âGod no, the clean eatinâs not enjoyable in the least bit,â Chase laughed. âBut business is boominâ and Iâve got my own place now, so Iâm feelinâ like Iâm getting myself back into a good spot in general. Leviâs doinâ well too, which is all I could really ever ask for. You doinâ well? Thatâd be the icinâ on the cake, or maybe the cherry on top, whichever metaphor youâd prefer for yourself.â Deciding on one of the burgers on the menu, he set it off to the side and when the waitress came over to greet them, he placed his order and made sure she put it all onto one tab. âHeard youâre steppinâ back out into the lawyer world a bit. Howâs that been goinâ so far? Catch any interestinâ cases?â
It was honestly pleasant to hear that Chase was doing good. He was one of the few individuals who Adrien actually cared to hear from and especially to hear that he was doing well. The additional good news was that his brother was also doing well and that business was indeed booming. Nothing like some good news at the start of the year, right? âIâm glad,â she said with a big smile, setting the menu aside for when the waitress came around. âIâm going to have to come into Inkâd soon,â she admitted, âWell, whenever I get my shit together and get an idea of something new. Better late than never, right?â She smiled, ordering when the waitress came around and then nodded. âYeah, a little bit. Been kind of boring. Nothinâ too interesting,â she said with a shrug, âA few things here and there but... Iâm like part-time? I donât know how you can really be a part-time lawyer but... Iâm definitely not doing the same amount of shit I was doinâ back in Houston. I donât think thereâs enough shit goinâ on around here for that type of workload anyway.âÂ
