The internet.
Sometimes I hate the internet.
I was about to pat myself on the back for coming up with the phrase: “Without further ado, I bid you adieu” (yes, this is what I do with my spare time, leave me alone).
Turns out some rapper did it already.
The moral of the story is that you probably are a rapper too and you don’t even know it.
There once was a time when I enjoyed going to live shows and watching bands do what they are supposed to do best. This was before everyone was more interested in watching people play and instrument than recording it with their phones and posting them as they ignored life happening around then and surrounding everything with #hashtags #ataconcert #soblessed #besttimeever. I was lucky enough to watch The Go! Team kick ass on stage. Their first couple of records sound like action movies from the 70′s with a choir of cheerleaders doing the vocals. Even then I knew it was the hipsterest of things, yet I, like the true hipster I was, I “didn’t care”. These guys keep performing and it seems to me that they’re still worth a listen, but 10 years (Jesus, I’m old) after listening to them for the first time, they just don’t pack the right amount of punch for me.
You know what it is like. You listen to music you used to enjoy as a youngster and realize that it wasn’t really that good. This is not the case. Pretty girls make graves was a band. That is evident. A great one at that. As a teenager I listened to them and now, as an adult, I gave them a listen and was pleasantly welcomed to the living room of their angsty lyrics and energetic music. These are songs that had a lot of heart go into them to make their listeners bang their fucking heads to them. A lot of hearts were broken when the band decided to part ways, yet, as the adage says “it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”.

Legends tend to have a bit of truth behind them. Gather round, my children. Once upon a time there was a man called Jimmy Wales, who was known for possessing a huge wealth of knowledge. This wealth was acquired through the efforts of a large community, and as such, Jimmy was only responsible of making sure the knowledge was available to everyone. One day he was visited by a guy with the name of a popular Klingon fish. He asked Jimmy "I would like to know more about a topic, but since I have no foundations in it, I am cursed and stuck in the initial state. Going through all the information presented in your library would be next to impossible. Add to that the fact that a lot of that information is not really related to what I'm currently studying and you should understand the predicament that I find myself in everytime I want to learn more" Jimmy replied "What business is that to me? I am not even the provider of the information. What you're asking of me is to organize the knowledge in a way that it can be presented and studied in order to acquire expertise. You're asking me to put you through school." The traveler kindly replied "I didn't ask a thing of you, get off your high horse. I just came to present to you the situation in which a lot of users of your sources of information are presented with. I simply came to let you know that I will organize the knowledge, I will bring the school to the people. I will teach a man to fish." And so it came to happen that the traveler delivered his style of schooling to the world. It reached far and wide to all corners of the earth and thousands of people signed up for the courses, and although only a handful of those thousands saw the studies to the end, the effort of Salman Khan was no waste at all.

Do you ever wake up to the thought of "hey, you know what? I wanna take a trip down depression lane"? Well, lucky for you the Cardigans are always there to help. They are undoubtedly the best band that ever was (among other achievements include: being first band on the moon and cutting Sweden's slack for having unleashed Abba unto the world) and no matter which song of theirs you listen to a small piece of yourself is forever lost. Rise and shine.
Yes, this somewhat looks like the Charles Bukowski. I feel that the nihilistic cynicism or whatnot is a particularly good and an adult way to go, especially in the end of February, or just when one runs out of fucks to give up ones sleeves, if you know what I mean. So let him be our adult of the week. And if you still are wondering why - there is one more reason left: Because fuck you, that’s why.
Asperge, or asparagus, as some of you may know it, is the adultest of vegetables. It tastes magnificent on it's own after being steamed, fried or grilled and sprinkled with a little bit of salt. Those are all great qualities, but what makes it stand out above other edibles is the fact that it does not apologize for making your pee smell terrible. Also it makes jizz tastes even worse (or so I've heard...) and there is even a syndrome named after the vegetable which is characterized by a constant need of asparagus consumption, which leads people to be unwilling to share an apartment with sufferers of the syndrome, as the toilet is always smelly.
Bob Odenkirk is one regal looking motherfuck. Not only is he just pleasant to look at but his raspy, almost lupine voice and personal demeanor are engaging to say the least. He's written comedy, acted and, most importantly, led me to make my first real attempt at drawing a person. Here we see him personifying Jim McGill, a dude that you simply wanna see succeed because he is like many of us: he's struggling with finding the right way to do shit in the hopes that things will go right.
A painting by Paul Gaugin just recently became the most expensive painting ever sold. That comes to show that a man can continue to kick ass decades after he’s been dead (I’m no fact checker so you multiply the decades by the amount that needs to be multiplied to get to the date of his demise).
From what I remember about Gaugin, as I learned it from that dude that played Jack Bauer (I never watched 24 but the fucking advertisements were everywhere and the dude’s name is catchy) in that movie, our adult of the week, Paul Gaugin left his wife and debt and embarked to some exotic islands to get a healthy dose of that brown tang. Way to go.
The painting above is not actually Gaugin’s, I made it in a couple of minutes based on what I remember the actual picture looked like. I think it’s pretty fucking good. I give it to the internet for free.
I realized I have massive talent for graphic design. Picture this beauty spinning around while you wait for your load. I'm just starting so I'm open to other designer's input, but I think I'm on the right track to cashing in on my creativity.
