Solo or Individual travelling
It is one of the main focuses of my adventures and cruising in general. I am excited to be able to finally start my adventures next month with my first Cruise as an adult by myself. I have not really travelled up until this point in time.
It is work figuring out what the best deals are and what should be a good deal when picking a cruise ship to travel on. I am open as far a brands are but I am limited to really traveling out of one port for now that has 4 different companies.
So I focus on keeping the price down below $100.00 per night per room including taxes and tips. Most prices for cruise ship are based off of two people per room. So when traveling alone it doubles the price but does not double taxes and tips. This is what I am trying to watch. Sometimes very short cruises then to be the best deals for me. I have found that either 5 nights( or less) or 10 nights or more tend to fall into my idea price range for solo travelers.
Almost forgot about cruise or travel insurance. Some credit cards offer it when paying for a cruise. Also you can by it from the cruise line when getting a cruise as well. This is how I do it and it is part of my final cost when picking a cruise trip. I just prefer this so that way if something does happen to me while travelling the cruise line has everything already to take care of me or get me when I can receive proper medical care in an emergency. I could possibly be incapacitated and unable to provide the information and have no one else there to help with this. You can always buy a travel insurance plan either for one cruise yourself or an annual general travel plan from a company that should help you during your travels if you are planning many travels.
Also the best times of year are from August to November, a short part of December, and January to March. This is usually around the school season and holidays. So if you are able to travel during these times there are better deals to be had for you. My opinion is the best time to cruise is when it works best for your schedule.
Travelling to the port is another factor which I am close to a port and able to get there with many issues so this cost is very low for me and helps to keep it under the $100.00 for night goal that I have. This is something else that other people may not have the luxury not having to worry about. There are many things to keep in mind as well with getting to a cruise unless you live close to a port.
Always keep in mind travel expenses when looking at prices for cruises and price out the method of travel from where ever you are located to the closest port or the port that you would prefer to travel out from.
Now deciding what is a good deal or not will depend upon the cruiser. This is a personal choice of what you consider a good deal. There are many different choices and destinations out there for you to travel to and see. It all is really up to you. You have to decide what is within your budget and what you fine acceptable. You maybe willing to pay more as a solo traveler and choice different companies than I would. Also you may only be able to travel during holidays and summer vacations during the year.
Also remember that this is your vacation and you need to do what is best for you since you are travelling alone enjoy the complete freedom that will come with this as an individual. So if there are actives that you want to do or always wanted to try. This would be the time to go for it and doing things that otherwise may not have been able to do. As long as these are legal and reasonable safe.
