new 100 baby challenge rimworld colony has taken an interesting turn. the dad, Noster, was created to be OP but is useless. between all the time he spends socializing and meditating, and all the times hes been out of commission for weeks because of Something Dumb.... the man doesn't do much. the moms run the colony and the grown kids are now taking on specialist roles that they were quite literally born for. the lore has finally ripened to the point where i feel like drawing the pawns

first unnatural darkness event in a playthrough with only a wood-fire generator did not go well. 5 in 2 out

been on a drawing kick again ! hamlet's playthrough has been progressing very gradually. having life lessons on has meant relying on passerby to get basic electric stuff up, and it took a lonnnngggg time to achieve hot running water. she still hasnt unlocked batteries, because knowledge of electronics is stuck behind 7 prereqs. the base has become reliant on wood generators, and im used to the power going out sometimes.

the goal is to adopt every kid in rimworld, and by extension to kill every kid in rimworld, apparently. four kids have joined the colony, only to be annihilated coughing baby style by a large animal or, on occasion, The Horrors. hamlet has gone through several lovers, also dead, and has one living husband. they currently have a homemade toddler, and another kid who will hopefully survive longer than the other ones did.

ok i want to talk abt this bc i like it and i like nuclear accidents. the black frog and red foliage are taken from chernobyl (rapid natural selection for melanin in animals since It Helps). the arrow and number three are the dial of a radium-painted clock. their painters, as you would expect, got a lot of cancer from the radioactive dust they were inhaling at work. the blue light is alluding to the demon core. ###malfunction 54### is the error code from the therac-25 (for those blissfully unfamiliar: a cancer treatment device which, due to a coding error, sometimes blasted patients with radiation-- discontinued, obviously). way in the back there are spikes, one of the proposed methods for a 10,000 year nuclear waste warning system.

i moved on to a naked brutality run with Hamlet, Future God, who has burning passion in everything and every positive trait. I'm playing with the life lessons mod to balance things out. this is her getting her first outfit from a raid.

Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?

Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.
