rest mode . there’s a lot to be said about a2′s survival guilt; but, the best way to describe it ( without getting too heavy or deep in her existential psyche ) is: she is constantly fighting ghosts. the ghosts of her fallen comrades; the ghosts of her past self; the ghost of her confusion &. resentment &. hatred towards yorha, but ultimately, herself for being alive — no matter the source, all of her ghosts are rooted in pain. a phantom pain for which there is no respite or cure. an interminable haunting that is as infinite as her will to survive. “an emotion suspended in time.”

perhaps ending [c] is the only merciful route of her story; unfortunately, it’s wholly unsatisfying.
