Asian giant hornets (a.k.a. murder hornets) have been spotted only in Washington state and Canada. Traps elsewhere are killing beneficial native wasps and bees.

Reminder that by “MURDER HORNETS INVADE THE USA!!!!” the news was referring to two sightings on the Washington-Canada border last year, this is like if someone found a dingo in New York and people in California started trapping dogs because they think dingoes are going to sweep across the continent in ten seconds and start eating people.
