Ami’s words catch the young heir by surprise. Eyes widening slightly, they look back at the cyber sleuth. They thought about taking it at face value, because they did trust Ami just the same, but there was something even they’d caught. Something that had given the impression that this was more than simply ...

Words failed them, and they coughed into the palm of their fist, trying to dispel the awkwardness between them. Certainly, it had left them in a strange position, but Yuuko was. Well, there was a tinge of color at their ears as they tried to maintain their composure.

“I’m ... honored. You’re very important to me as well, Ami.” They said in return, although the words feel as though they fall short, less impactful for some reason. Perhaps because it sounded like they were just trying to find a way to match Ami’s?

It wasn’t their intention.

     Ami’s pretty sure that she hasn’t ever cooked anything over a fire before, at least not on her own, and she’s only really a passable cook whenever the normal means are available to her. But, she does like learning new things, so even if their attempts don’t wind up anywhere near perfect, it’s worth giving it a try, and they’ll probably get better at it through trial and error, right? The more she thinks about it, the more excited she gets, and pretty soon, she’s beaming and eager to get started.

     “Well, we wont know until we try, right?”

     “I’ll help,” Lopmon chimes in, stepping up to stand beside Ami. If it’s a meal for all of them, then each one of them should do something to help out, they think.

     “Thanks, Lopmon.”

     Ami follows after Yuuko to help them gather more of the strange green apples and admittedly is growing decently hungry herself…all of the fruits her friend collected before had a different taste to them, so she wonders if all of these will have their own unique flavor as well, and if so, what it will be. She’s curious, but refrains from taking a bite out of any of the apples, figuring they’ll probably taste much better once they’re actually cooked. It’s actually kind of fun, too, setting up a little fire pit like this and cooking outdoors. 

     Because this isn’t something she’s really done before, though, Ami just winds up following Yuuko’s lead and places her own apples down beside theirs, then standing there, not really sure of what to do now.

     Lopmon returns a few moments later, both their arms and ears cradled to carry a small bundle of twigs and leaves, which they then place into the fire pit.

Once the fuel is set within the fire pit, Hackmon nudged a few of the rocks, making sure they’re all in place. Then he looks to make sure Lopmon and everyone else is a safe distance away from him. He takes a few steps back himself, digging into the dirt but careful not to kick any towards their food and calls out a ball of flames. 

“Baby Flame!”

The twigs and leaves caught fire almost instantly. It began wild but contained within the stones as a good barrier should. Thankfully, the flames don’t last long as it got accustomed, crackling safely as it licked at the stones. He nods in approval before finding a good spot before the warmth of their makeshift campfire.

All the while, Yuuko picked up one of the apples they had that was impaled on a stick. Brushing their bottom with the other hand, they took a seat on the ground, folding their legs beneath them, with the stick held so the apple was precariously above the flame.

Somehow, the Kamishirou heir was able to make the action so sleek and smooth, carrying themselves with a grace befitting their background. It doesn’t help moments later when the apple is finally cooked and they’d brushed back a few strands of their hair as they blew to cool it off, daintily taking a bite.

With their other hand before their mouth, Yuuko lets out a happy sound. Ah, it tasted like honeyed roast cooked just right, somehow. It doesn’t seem like it takes much cooking knowledge to make them taste all too amazing --- then again, this was from a person who’s more than happy with a salt and rice onigiri.

     He knows his battling style has long lost its spark after that battle against Serena ages ago, but he accepts the words regardless. The fact he’s able to still hold his own against someone as strong as her is a testament of his abilities. If only it produced results.

     “ I’ll have to take you up on that. ” He says aloud instead. “ I’ve heard corphish has been popular this season. ”

They're beautiful, and meaningful enough that Steven was more than happy to share his love of them by giving them to her! Another package is presented to her, though he smiles shyly for a moment. "I got this because it matched the blue of your eyes, admittedly." Inside is a- belly button ring? Of course it had to resemble the Adamant orb. 

“Steven?!”

Surprised, Clair just stood there as the gift was offered to her. It took a few blinks before she’d look down at the vase, taking in the design. The dragonair, of course, was the first thing she noticed, as did the flowers it bore. Her mind quickly registered just what they were, but ignored the meaning—he was a rock kind of nerd, not a flower one. He probably didn’t know what the significance was, and maybe it would have been a little different in Hoenn.

—Hell, she was surprised that he’d even remembered White Day of all things. She expected giri choco from her gym trainers, which she did get, but that’s besides the point!

Juggling the vase with one hand, she looked up at him, then down at the next package he’d gotten for her.

—Two gifts?!

Sure, they were supposed to have a greater return gift than the one they received on Valentines, but she ... had been too busy to have gotten anything and double of nothing was still nothing. She was going to have to make up for it on their anniversary. (Birthday might have been better, but it was closer.)

Although, she wondered just what about this particular gift made him even quirkier than usual. It wasn’t like they hadn’t shared an embarrassing amount of things (read: feelings) since they’ve ‘consolidated’ their feelings and gone through all that chaos they called a wedding.

Opening the box, she peered at the gift, eyes wide with surprise. It was two orbs each held by a dragon’s claw, tied together by a bar. “Oh,” she murmured, “this is nice.” She’d expected something more like this, maybe a little less flair and more rock. Or just rock. But, that would mean he’d be parting with it.

Then her eyebrows scrunched up a little as she shifted it closer. It was wearable, that much was certain, but she’d only seen (and wore) traditional earrings. This was something entirely different. Although, it did look vaguely familiar.

“It doesn’t look like an earring though?”

     ‘ I don’t normally investigate ‘ghost sightings,’ since, you know, they’re fake. ‘ He laughs a little, brushing back a few strands of hair. ‘ But, it wouldn’t be a good idea to follow me. It’s not safe. ’

“…Oh.”

Yuugo is surprised, he has to admit, and it shows on his face even as he carefully touches the items that are inside the box once it’s been properly opened up. Then, this means…

“It’s… like… like a walking aid? Is that what you mean?” Yuugo questions, seeing if he’s understood the intent properly - would this mean less using crutches to walk, and more being able to do so on his own with the aid of a more advanced method?

…Yuuko is spoiling him, whatever the case.

He ABSOLUTELY wants to check these immediately though.

Still, as he gazes at the screen that’s been brought up, he first opts to answer their question.

“I would like tea… Now that I, I’m able t… to sto-stomach more flavors easier.” He’s still got issues with certain foods and textures, but his palate has come a long way in comparison to when he first started on the road to recovery.

He can now also ditch his outdated digivice, he supposes. Maybe keep it for a backup, if needed…

The younger twin nods and heads off to make tea. Nothing too strong that he wouldn’t be able to tolerate. A nice subtle flavor that would carry a calming scent. Now that they thought about it, it’s something they’d often drink themselves when it came late in the day. It wouldn’t be too long before Yuuko returns, and the younger twin could tell that he’s definitely interested in giving it a shot. They can’t blame him. In the long run, those crutches would do more damage than good.

The tea is set on the coffee table along with a pair of cups, and Yuuko takes a spot on the couch. Their eyes are mildly downcast. Despite the hope they hold for the present they’ve chosen for him. It’s still in the experimental phase. There’s plenty about it that isn’t known, and they know there’s plenty to report back to the research division.

‘ Yeah, but ... You still have to build up your strength. It’ll tell you when your steps can’t compensate for long. Ah, that is ... when you need to rest.’ Yuuko lets out a sigh, ‘ ... It’s still a prototype, so it’s not perfect, and the lab wants regular reports in exchange for having them. Most importantly, they’re yours. ’

Yuuko takes one of the gloves from where it sat above the shoes and tries to slip it over his hand. ‘ Give it a try, Nii-san. ’

“Hello Liza!” A soft chuckle echoed from his lips and bent down towards her level, her and Tate were always a wonder to look after. “Mh?” His eyes scanned over the object in question. 

The object turned out to be a slim black computer with red and blue controls at each side; with an large screen spanning from one side to another. His mind wracked trying to figure out what exactly the device was, this was not the first time that he’d seen it. That much Norman felt certain. Embarrassment surged inside of him.

“Sure,” He said, with a nod. “What exactly is it, Liza? Is a computer or a gaming device?”

“ It’s a game console! The newest one! ” She hopped over to the table, shoving everything aside to make room for her—their— new game system. Hovering about the strange device, Liza muttered to herself, making sure everything was just right before handing him the controller. “ If you pop it off the sides like this and prop it like that ...”

The screen lit up, and it played a familiar tune.

She spun on her heel, turning towards him, and placed one of the things she’d plucked off the side of the screen. “ This is one of the controllers and we’re going to play a fighting game! Here. This one’s attack, then this one’s a special attack, and this one is the shield. These buttons are to move, and that’s to jump. There you go, all the buttons you need to know.  ” Of course, she left out a heck of a lot of things, but the theme song was already replaying once!

She flipped through the screens easily, navigating through it all like she’d already played it once before. And, she has, in those demos at the stores! But, she wasn’t going to tell him that. That’ll ruin all the ‘fun.’ She settled on pikachu and waited on him to choose.

“ I’ll go easy on you the first round—we’ll do a coin battle! You just gotta collect all the coins, okay? ”

GENDER. Cis Male

ALIGNMENT. Chaotic Neutral—At the end of the day, he places his personal freedom against others. Lying and all his fake personas, while necessary for his job, have become second nature for someone like him. He acts according to his whims with the goal of investigating and resolving any issues related to the supernatural and tackling them in whatever way necessary as was assigned to him.

INTERESTS. Ghost pokemon, Ghosts, Spiritomb (specifically Spiritomb creation), developing his abilities as a Channeler.

PROFESSION. ‘Ghoul’ of the Society, Field Agent for InterPol. Masquerades as various positions, primarily journalist.

BODY TYPE. He’s got the type of body that can easily get chubby if he doesn’t keep moving. Thanks to the intense training that he’s got with his mother, and then later his Aegislash, he’s got a decent amount of muscle to him. It’s enough to surprise people with how tough he actually is.

EYES. Hazel brown irises. Double lidded eyes.

HAIR. Often left uncombed, his hair is generally sleek, the kind that clips and ties can’t stick on for long. Due to his lifestyle, he finds it a hassle to go to a stylist and will cut his own hair as long as he doesn’t need to go to an official event. It only adds to the ‘bed head’ style he has, and leaves his hair at various lengths. 

SKIN. He does have a slight tan from his days in Unova, but his body is lined with silvery scars. He’ll joke not to become a journalist, there’s too much trouble.

FACE. Baby faced. It’s a curse and a blessing. Those with photographs of him in the past would note that the only thing that changed was his eyes.

HEIGHT. 163 cm. He does wear two inch elevator shoes boosting him up 167 cm at most.

VOICE. Unmatching that of his face, his voice is distinctly masculine. It’s quiet but it carries a confident timbre to it. It’s a flexible tone that adapts to the personality he’s required at the moment.

COMPANIONS. Shiny (shiny!rotom), Cain (aegislash). These are the two he’s currently built a strong bond with.

ANTAGONISTS. Psychic types, particularly those belonging to the meowstic line or ralts line.
