Cela faisait longtemps que j'avais cette idée qui me passait de temps en temps en tête, mais comme c'était très inspiré de la version de @/milo-cally je la laissais de côté. Récemment il en a fait un redraw, ça m'a finalement lancé… ^^'

Je trouve ça rigolo de constater les différences d'interprétation qu'on peut tous avoir d'un même personnage. C'est aussi l'une des raisons qui m'a convaincu de faire ce dessin, en plus de juste y avoir eu du fun ✨

I, herm... Tried something. I started this ting in June... And then life took me elsewhere. It's not finished, and I don't even know if I should post it, but here you have

I will fulfill my father's wishes.

I will take his place.

I'll kill Dream.

I'll take down the multiverse into negativity.

Aren't you afraid of dying alone?

It doesn't scare me.

Merciless : Mommy'sNoodraw (VK)

Welp, it's based on an old thought. In some fanfiction I've read, even though the fact that Dream is dead, positivity continues to exist for… no reason. So I wondered what the consequences would be if only negativity remained in the world, and my answer for now is: it leads to a very slow decline of the world (multiverse). Like, when you only feel negative emotions, after a while you despair for positivity. That's what keeps us alive after all. But you can't even hope to feel it again. So... Depression ? And at that point you can't get out of it, the weapons to fight it are gone. You can't show your brain that life is worth it, you can't be happy about what's happening to you, even the things you love. It can take years. But in the end, dying seems a good option. And if you don't suicide... It may be the case for many people around you.

Also, not everyone reacts the same way to negativity. Some go crazy, some kill others… I think it leads everyone to their breaking point no matter what they do when that moment comes.

It will probably take a few generations before the two main races are completely extinct, not to mention the fact that in the Dreamtale canon it seems that some can become dark beasts looking desperately for positivity.

Back to what I drew, Nightmare probably doesn't care about destroying the world in the end, but Merciless hasn't been through what he has. No one bullied him, no one hated him for who he was, he has no real reason to be mad at everyone. He's just doing what his father raised him to do. So the result may be not what he was looking for. Him too can't feel positivity now.

In the end, imprisoning Dream in stone was maybe the best option x'D
