there is a very real tendency of teenagers with anxiety disorders self diagnosing with considerably more stigmatized and impairing mental illnesses (e.g. schizophrenia, DID, personality disorders), but the best response to that isn't to get angry with them for "appropriating" lol. instead you show them coping resources for the problems they're actually having and deemphasize diagnostic categories in general. if an 18 year old is claiming to have alzheimer's, they're probably making an innocent mistake and are in genuine distress. be kind.

Also I think this trend comes, at least in part, from how brushed aside anxiety disorders can be. If your parents and teachers dismiss you with 'oh everyone feels anxious', then inevitably you're going to start thinking that there must be something else going on with you

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone is allowed to criticize and dislike any character they want but it's honestly sad to see how much people here on tumblr collectively hate Cordelia. I know she's not perfect and Cassie did her dirty in ChoT but it's so disheartening to see her getting hate more than any other tsc heroine when she's the first WOC we get as a protagonist. I've never seen people pick apart any other character's smallest behavior and twist their intentions like they do to her. I honestly agree with some criticism of her but I feel so defensive when I see people shit on her and completely misinterpret her character.

james and cordelia as a ship have had a lot of haters throughout the years but my god nobody hates them more than tumblr y’all just really don’t get them at all and end up saying the most insane and ooc things about then i’m crying
