Asked my nerd (affectionate) brother for a writing prompt bc I've been stuck for month and this man just said "id."

Id: the part of the mind in which innate instinctive impulses and primary processes are manifest.

Rain pelted down from on high. Her skin shone, glassy and soaking wet, an orangey glow reflecting the light of the fire. Her feet slid in the mud, splatters of it cascading onto her calves. She couldn’t remember when she’s started spinning, but she no longer cared. Faintly, she wondered how the fire was enduring against the torrential rain, but the thought passed as quickly as it had appeared.

Her foot sloshed through a puddle, ankle twisting violently, but she didn’t stop. She dropped the skirt she’d forgotten she was holding up, arms stretching out at her sides. She threw her head back, sticking out her tongue to catch the rain drops, giddy laughter seizing at her sides. Thick mud weighed her dress down, but somehow her spinning did not slow.

 A shock of vivid white light consumed the sky, whiting out the world through her closed eyelids. For a breathtaking moment, her form stood out in stark relief against the white sky. Arms outstretched, head thrown back, she momentarily appeared as a frozen silhouette as the lighting overtook the heavens. But in the blink of an eye all went dark again, the rain hammering down as she screamed ecstatically at the sky.

Moments later, a loud “CRACK!” shook the earth, reverberating in her bones.

I'm a few chapters into this book; I saw it recommended on Pinterest and impulsively requested it from the library not long ago (even though I'm supposed to be reading the books I already own instead of getting new ones from the library or buying more... but I have a problem, so...) So far, I'm really enjoying it. I find the tone very romantic, which is pretty atypical of books dealing with finances.

We've been working our way through this book and study guide in our staff meetings at the church where I work. We're two thirds of the way through now. It's been a very interesting topic to study as a group!

I finally finished reading "What Is Reformed Theology?" by R.C. Sproul last night and decided I'd share some of my unhinged margin notes. This was a super interesting read, and I really enjoy Sproul's style and tone.

I'm really enjoying this book by R.C. Sproul, and the opportunity to learn about the classical reformed perspective.

Also, my latte yesterday was beautiful. Baristas rock.
