He never went out without a book under his arm, and he often came back with two.
Victor Hugo, Les Misérables. (via ijustkindalikebooks)
“Horror, we know, is real. The rest is a dream, pretense, or a children’s story we cannot quite abandon. Heaven and earth recoil, and we admit the truth of cataclysm– that, yes, this happens. This is the way things are.”
— Seneca, Medea (trans. David R. Slavitt)
Spotify playlist description: FERAL HYSTERICAL MONSTER WOMEN WHO HOWL AT THE MOON AND GROW FANGS TO PIERCE THE THROATS OF ALL WHO DARE DEFY HER (picture is Anna from Possession) (made by an account called SPI//LL B//LOOD)
the playlist: (Regina Spektor, Billie Eilish, Lorde, Hozier, Mitskis entire discography, exactly one M.I.A song, either a Cardi or Nicki song depending on which callout post the playlist creator last saw, Zombie by The Cranberries)
Excuse me?
Keanu Reeves thriller on Netflix…
Oh, it’s directed by Eli Roth… Hmm…
This is sooo bad. Like, not even enjoyable bad. Just regular bad.
All I do is sit suspiciously.
Hi.
Moms love me.
Dads are indifferent and emotionally unavailable towards me.
#i didnt say this b4 but i also rlly like ur outfit#idk if this makes sense but it looks actually genuine#compared to the punk outfits i see out and about in my city
I don’t think that anyone who purchases clothing from brands like Killstar or whatever should get to be called punks. That being said, now I have that video of Avril Lavigne circa 2002 talking about how it’s more punk to not call yourself punk.
Typing up a whole essay about people that will drop hundreds of dollars on clothing made by fast fashion corporations that co-opt countercultural movements and aesthetics for a profit, instead of tossing that money to individual creators and small shops that are part of the foundation of punk fashion, and realizing that either, A: I am preaching to the choir here, or B: Nobody actually cares that much.
Intentionally seeking out things that I know will make me angry.
Okay, actually, I am genuinely angry now. “No gods, no masters” is an Anarchist slogan that dates back to the late 1800s. I feel violent. This is worse than everyone taking fucking, “Be gay, do crime” which is the title of an Anarchist manifesto and turning it into a cutesy meme.
wah wah wah
yeah yeah yeah
