Ten years ago, Benedict and Sophie announced their engagement. Were people surprised? Yes. But the vast majority of the fandom were happy for them. Sadly, a small handful of bitter, entitled so-called fans didn't take the news well. They were enraged that he didn't stay single. That he didn't propose to one of them. So what did they do? They started a hate campaign aimed at Sophie.
At first, it was the usual insults. She's a whore, she's ugly, she's a gold digger, etc. The kind of insults thrown at women since the dawn of time. Then the "PR" crowd chimed in. Showing the world they have no idea what PR is.
But as soon as it became clear that Benedict and Sophie's relationship was the real deal, the gloves came off. That's when the flase and disgusting accusations started. Saying that Benedict had abused his younger school mates and that Sophie was black mailing him. But they couldn't keep accusing the object of their obsession, so they started accusing Sophie of child abuse. Of human trafficking. Of fraud. Of domestic violence, etc.
When that wasn't enough for the septics, they turned against his friends and family. They had to accuse his parents of abuse and neglect. Especially his mother. Then, as time went on, Patty needed to findan excuse to explain why her predictions never came true. Especially after her disatrous interview. So what did she do? With the help of Aeltri, she decided to diagnose Ben with DID. That way, she could use the excuse to explain why she was so very wrong again. If that wasn't enough, she decided to say Sophie was dying of tertiary syphilis. Of course, that diagnosis keeps changing as it is very clear she's not dying.
It's been 10 years. Ten years of lies, of hate, of harassement, of bullying, of slander. And for what? Benedict and Sophie are still married. They're still thriving. Still parents to their 3 boys. In short, the septics have wasted a decade of their lives denying reality with nothing to show for it.
Patty's cult is growing smaller with every passing year. Aeltri's mental health is getting worse. Mstoxictea became a full on QAnon member thanks to Aeltri. In short, the septics lives have not improved in the least. In fact, they are more miserable than they were 10 years ago. I take solace in knowing that there's only a small handful of them left. But they are still there after 10 years. Looking even more stupid than they did at the start.
So if any tinhater is reading this, no matter what the fandom, ask yourself this: do you really want to end the same way? Is it really worth it? It's not to late to come to your senses. Don't become the next poster child for fandom tinhats.
