A Pakistani soldier examines whether a man is circumcised or not during Bangladesh’s war of independence, 1971. During the war, the Pakistani government occasionally accused the Bengali fighters of actually being Indian Hindu agitators. As a result many Bengali men were forced to prove they were circumcised, and therefore Muslim, at checkpoints.
