i never really like how the movie just dismisses woody's voice box removal like that. i mean, he was literally freaking out about his arm in the second movie, but suddenly he was fine with having the ragdoll's equivalent of a spine removed?? IT MAKES NO SENSE!! his voice box is such an important aspect for his character!!!

can we talk about how the toy story animated storybook has woody set up a whole chain reaction machine to push buzz off the window?????
this is more evil than the black friday reel by SEVERAL levels, this is calculated manslaughter. you are forced to play test his sick and twisted device and fix whats wrong. plus, the other toys are what make up this machine... did he trick them into doing this???? this is one step away from a horror game premise. what makes it so unsettling is that its all characters you know and love
and oh my god these expressions. did he decide he was just going to go evil mode in this game after they toned down the black friday reel scene ?????

*After a few minutes, Buzz manages to scrap together a pair of wings just like his own; except they’re made of cardboard and colored by crayons, and are the perfect size to fit his son. Junior squirms a little as his dad puts them on for him, smiling at receiving a new present to match his new space-themed onesie*
“There. Are you ready now for adventure?”
*Even if he’s facing the other way, the baby giggles at how passionate his dad’s voice sounds. That along with the clapping of his hands is enough to make Buzz chuckle, and so he gently takes ahold of Junior by his sides, readying him for upsies*
“To infinity… and beyond!”
*With confidence does he lift up his son high above his own head, spinning around in circles on top of the bed; Junior’s laughter becomes more high-pitched out of glee, especially once Buzz starts mimicking rocket noises. The commotion catches the attention of Woody, whom was in the middle of a checkers game with Slinky, and now feels like losing his breath after seeing his baby up so high*
“BUZZ! Don’t do anything reckless with him! Like you, he can’t fly!”
“This isn’t flying, Woody. It’s falling with style.”
*Before Woody can rush towards the side of the bed in order to climb up, Buzz falls backwards and lands safely onto the big, comfy pillow. Junior is brought down and held closely to his chest, the former still laughing non-stop, but it has calmed a bit*
“You sure have the makings of a space ranger, buddy.”
*As the father/son playtime eases, the cowboy spreads a half-smile while he shakes his head*
I love your little prideyear baby fic, I was wondering if possible maybe you could add to it if you want? I'd love to see Woody and Buzz's reaction if Junior gets a little lost in the house(Ham and Mr Potato head freaking out how they are going to react because it was their turn on babysitting duty and Buzz and Woody wanted a little break to themselves) and them going all protective mode especially Woody. But turns out Junior was fine, they just started crawling/walking and hid somewhere else and took a nap.
*An irritated potato and piggy bank have been butting heads between each other for the last few minutes, trying to keep it toned down as much as possible so the human family can’t hear them*
Mr. PH: How can you say you don’t know where he went when he was sitting right BESIDE you?!
Hamm: Well who was the one who suggested to have a game of cards to kill the time?!
Mr. PH: I thought for sure it would put him to sleep; you know how babies are!
*Approaching footsteps suddenly make them stop bickering, and seeing the faces of the confused cowboy and space ranger have them stunned*
Buzz: What’s going on? Did something happen with Junior?
*Potato Head gets nervous, allowing Hamm to spill it*
Hamm: Oh something happened alright, and it’s pinned on the one who has three kids of his own.
Mr. PH: Hey! Put a cork in it, bacon.
Woody: What? What did you guys do?
*Of course their sheriff would immediately know whatever happened was both their faults, so they look again at each other before telling the truth*
Mr. PH: *sigh* You may have told us to babysit for a bit, but we… I thought we could still entertain ourselves with cards.
Hamm: And wouldn’t you know it, the little tyke wondered off on his own… possibly out of the room.
*The pair are left aghast by this information*
Woody/Buzz: WHAT?!
*Their faces display frustration and intense panic, and the two others only stand and stare as Woody attempts to calm down his own anger*
Woody: We leave him for a few minutes and this happens? *grumbles*
Buzz: Come on! Hopefully he hasn’t gone too far.
*The spaceman is the first to leave the room in a hurry. The ashamed babysitters stay behind as Woody follows him, but not after giving a loud whistle*
Woody: Slinky, Bullseye, try and catch Junior’s scent.
*Bullseye already gets to work and Slinky nods his head affirmatively*
Hamm: Oh boy.
*Woody continuously calls out his baby’s name as quietly as he could, avoiding detection, but his figurative heart is racing rapidly. Buzz is equally as stressed, searching through any furniture a baby can possibly crawl into, and grows even more agitated*
Woody: Oh god… *pants* shi- *bites tongue*
*So many hypothetical scenarios fill the cowboy’s already aching mind; what if Bonnie found him, or her parents found him and wonder what he was? What if they accidentally stepped on him?? What if he somehow found his way outside and was taken by some predator??? It’s all too much to bare*
Buzz: Woody! Over here!
*His partner’s cry slips some hope back into Woody and he rushes all the way to the parents’ bedroom where it came from. In seconds does he go from panicking to relieved after seeing the sight before him - the little doll snuggled up against the big tabby cat*
Woody: He was… *pant* napping… *pant* all along?
Buzz: Looks like it; he sure found a good spot though.
*Watching over their peaceful son is enough to put both of them at ease. After a brief minute, Woody carefully picks up Junior and is not worried at all about waking the cat - he pays no mind to toys anyway. The baby did squirm a little, but Woody makes sure to comfort him*
Woody: Shh, don’t worry. We’re gonna get you back into your bed, darling.
*Buzz smiles through guiding his partner back to the room with their baby safe and sound, until his eyes shift over to the two toys who started all of this*
Buzz: We should probably rethink on who’s more reliable as babysitters, Woody.
Woody: *looks around* Honestly, with how chaotic this family is, that’s gonna be a hard task.
Okay, am I the only one who’s pretty pissed off at the fact that Jessie and Bullseye react sooo little when they see Woody again in TS5?
(I just recently discovered a clip of that scene)
The latter used to be super close with his favourite cowboy that he would follow him back to Andy’s house in the third movie, so I’d expected him to be overjoyed and lick Woody’s face… but apparently not?
And Jessie is like his sister who - somehow - managed to keep in contact with him, so you’d think she would hug and thank him for coming despite not actually calling him for backup, right?
Nope! They both just stand there and the movie yet again makes another bald spot joke. 😒 If they were gonna pay not much attention to Woody here then he might’ve been better off just being a hallucination from Buzz’s imagination.
