An Accurate Recollection of Barley Wind’s Talk With Aster Petal:

BARLEY WIND: Oh, my! Your daughters, Mist and Elk, are very energetic. They climb just like squirrels. What good luck!

ASTER PETAL: Why, thank you. They are very healthy. But, gee, really a lot of work.

BARLEY WIND: Still, we don’t have any Gazers right now, and even if we’ll have a lot of Gazers soon, we’ll need more kittens.

ASTER PETAL: You’re very right! I’ll have to talk to the Tribe and Rat Gaze about it.

BARLEY WIND: I’d be happy to have (more) kittens. I don’t care who it’s with. Maybe even some fresh blood from another Tribe during the Summer Solstice. I just want to help the Tribe.

ASTER PETAL: Are you sure? They’re a lot of work and we do have plenty of cats who could have more litters. I don’t want you to feel obligated or anything.

BARLEY WIND: Oh, no. I’d be happy to. Anyone particular in mind?

ASTER PETAL: Well, I was thinking anyone but Sun Leaf–

BARLEY WIND: Oh, bang Sun Leaf? Right on it!!

*Barley Wind zips off*

ASTER PETAL: Wait! I didn’t mean–

Brae: “There ain’t much to say. I try to avoid Pa when he’s inna weird mood. Fire uses a lotta words I don’t understand but I don’t wanna seem slow around ‘em so I laugh it off. Dawn Peak is a real pretty gal but she treats me like a kit so she’s really no better.”

“Pa mentioned how our other Pa is from a place far off from here. I wouldn’t mind taking a solo trip to see ‘em sometime.”

They are the first designs of Larkstar and Harrierflight circa...forever ago! I commissioned it as a Christmas gift for Highwind and despite the characters growing and changing it’s one of my favorite art pieces. :D
