Little bit more context: story is about a washed up, grown up ex-teen detective trans guy and his cocky, clueless rival who works at the same mall the MC does. One night as they're closing up, the MC gets a call from an old enemy who's tracked him down. Can the MC and his LI outwit and escape the kidnappers sent after the MC and get their HEA*? Heavy 90s nostalgia, but in a vaporwave way. Probably no more than 15k words, likely shorter.
