pairing: hufflepuffmuggleborn!reader x draco
summary: when y/n y/l/n starts having weird, recurring dreams about her long time unrequited crush in her 6th year, she begins to wonder where fantasies end and reality begins.
warnings: canon-typical violence, mature language, nsfw content, VERY dark themes of murder, grief, and coercion. i donāt know why i wrote this to be as dark as it was but i didnāt know how else to make it happen lol
a/n: hello my loves! long time no see! im so sorry for not really responding much to any messages/reblogs/replies/anonsā¦work has been absolutely insane and iāve had a lot on my plate. iām also currently working on a dramione twilight au available on my ao3Ā and it updates weekly, so iāve been placing more focus on that.Ā
nitty gritty: i am pushing this to be one more part, though it probably (?) wonāt be as long as these first 3. and i promise a happy ending. all is not as it seems. if youāre a fan of our late eviās turn, the ending of this particular part should remind you of somethingā¦Ā

āOk. So let me get this straight.ā Susan was pacing the room, her arms folded over her chest and her brows furrowed.āDraco Malfoy has been your make-believe boyfriend since the beginning of term, except for heās really not make-believe and heās actually your boyfriend? But only when you fall asleep.ā
āIt sounds worse when you put it like that,ā defended Y/N, though she was glad that Susan was being a little testy. Arguing made it easier to forget what was actually going on. āThe book Trelawney assigned me explains it all. Apparently hairline cracks in crystal balls can seriously mess things up. One of the symptoms can be recurring trips into an alternate dimension. I was thinking about Draco when I used the crystal ball, so it took him with me. Itās described as being closer to the dream realm than it is to what we understand to be reality, but it doesnāt make it any less real. Draco has been having the same dreams, too. Iām almost positive.ā
āIsnāt this a good thing?ā asked Susan.Ā
Y/N wanted to scream. āNo! Because heās definitely just going along with it as a distraction from whatever else is going on with his life. He doesnāt actually like me. Heās told me that himself.ā
āHe doesnāt like you, but heās still shagging you?ā
āBecause Iām there,ā hissed Y/N. āAnd Iām available, and I probably stroke his ego. And plus, he doesnāt think itās actually me. He thinks itās a product of his subconsciousness, too. Just like I thought.ā
āAnd I thought my Slytherin situation was complicated,ā muttered Susan.Ā
