((Sorta. I just moved into my apartment at uni today, so now I have more brain space for RPing and stuff. I'll be around on my accounts, daily to at least check with what's going on. I apologize to those of you whom I owe, and if you'd still like to continue what we're up to, do please let me know and I will make sure that I get to those that the earliest time I can. But until I've got a rhythm down with life and school, and until I've finished introspecting on my characters to make them better, I probably won't be capable of big RPs. ((Been a very busy two days, and it's only going to get busier from here. Apologies to everyone, but my activity will likely decrease significantly for a little while. I'm returning for my senior year of uni next Fri and need to pack and organize and stuff, and then there will be starting classes and crap. And also I need to do a good deal of thinking about my characters and where I want them to go, so that they stop being "reactive" and start being more "proactive". I think that may be my biggest problem, and it's something I need to correct ASAP. I will try to be on as often as possible, though, so if you can be patient, I will just absolutely adore you. Sophia waited a moment once the next person had paid for their meal and stepped away, the line moving forward a few steps. And then she waited a few more moments as the man in front of her still lingered.

Finally, she leaned toward him a little bit, raising her eyebrows. “Uhh… you planning on ordering something or you just window shopping?” She gave a small grin.

The question brought Orlando back to reality, and he realized that he was committing the grievous faux pas of holding up the line. “Oh! Sorry.” He hastily stepped forward, embarrassed and determined to correct his error. To the waiting teller, he said, “A garden salad with blue cheese dressing. And a bottle of water. Thank you.” To the woman behind him, he offered a smile. “Thanks. I got lost in my thoughts. Sorry to keep you waiting.”

Sophia smiled and shrugged the apology off with a shake of her head. “No worries. Just gonna grab a cheese sandwich and a coke. Not the most pressing matter of my day. Blue cheese, good choice.” She nodded, adding the comment as an afterthought.

She smiled slightly, sliding her hands into her back pockets and rocking from the toe of her boots to the heel as they waited for his salad to be prepared. “So how’s your day going?”

He was grateful that she was so accommodating. Not everyone would have been as patient when food was involved. "Mmm, cheese sandwich. I might just do that for lunch tomorrow. I can't actually remember the last time I had a coke. Must be a few years at least." He returned her smile warmly. "And thank you, I'm feeling rather herbivorous today, but blue cheese is always good for mixing things up."

The servers were hard at work, and he knew it wouldn't be much longer, so Orlando started pulling out his wallet and selecting cash while they were standing. "Oh, not too bad, actually. I'm finally making headway in a lot of the work I've been backlogged on. And I think I can take a leisurely lunch break today for a change." He looked at her as he sorted change. "And yours?"

After all, hungry people have to eat somehow, and not everyone had a schedule or workload that allowed them to wander off into the streets of Manhattan in search of a good burger. Thankfully, though, S.H.I.E.L.D. did not stint when it came to food quality, and even Orlando’s refined tastes could be satisfied here. As he waited patiently, he tried to decide what to get. Something small, like a salad? Or was he really hungry enough for a full meal? It’s food, does this really need to be a difficult decision? he thought, then chided himself. The more he thought about it, the better a salad was sounding. Lost deep in these oh-so-important and life-altering thoughts, he did not notice that the line had moved forward.

But today, his duty was on ground and he didn’t had the time to get back to the Carrier or even to go see his Angels but he was too hungry to think straight, so he had to give a chance to the HQ cafeteria. He was rather embarrassed that he'd been holding up the line, and so lifted an arm to indicate that the gentleman was free to cut in front of him. This did give him more time to think, though, for which he was grateful. Perhaps he would give HQ's burgers a try this time... On instinct rather than on purpose, he added, "Je suis désolé,"

((So it's been a very stressful, painful, emotional weekend and I've now finally recovered to the point that I can function properly. Back in the game, taking care of replies I owe, and ready to start up a small, steady stream of threads if anyone is interested. I say small because I go back to my final year of university two weekends from now so I don't want to get to a point where things will back up again. Orlando smiled warmly and waited. When Jaydell reappeared, he appraised the pants carefully, a finger pressed thoughtfully to his lips. "Mmm, they are all perfect. You give me too many fantastic options! I suppose the only way to choose will be to try at least one pair on, eh?" He grinned a little bashfully. "I'm still getting used to that as well, dear. It never gets any easier, but in a few weeks it will all feel perfectly normal."
