Did I do the secret santa right?
Matt looked at the side table, sighing in relief he’d been itching for a cigarette all day. He strode over to the candle pulling one of the cigarette out, holding it between his fingers and leaning over the flame lighting the tip inhaling deeply as he straightened himself once more. Matt was about to put away the packet when the older man smiled at him holding out his hand. “Do you want one?” he asked, taking another out and offering it to the man.
Favian nodded his head and took the cigarette from his hand. He smiled appreciatively as he speculated it. He placed the tip by the candle fire. How does one smoke? He didn't what to do next so he followed what Matt was doing and put the unlit tip to his lips. Nothing was happening.
Derreck was happy the man slowly moved forward towards him to reach out to the crocodile stuffed toy. So he didwant the stuffed crocodile. Well then, he may be young at heart. Just when the stranger was about to put his hands on it, Church decided to be the nosy kitty he was and jumped up to swipe the item away. Derreck thought his mind was playing with him when he saw the cat grin mischievously and get up on its two hind legs and start this weird victory dance. But then again, nothing was normal in the Shadow World. Although, it was the first time he saw the tom do such incredulous things. Just as he was about to retrieve back the toy, he glanced back at the man and mentally cursed himself at the sight of the stranger running down the hallways away from the cat.
The cat was chasing the old man so eagerly. And he was old. So he was so easily winded. He took a sharp right at the end of the hallway and brought down some side tables along the way, hoping that doing so would slow down the abnormally fast cat. Favian was screaming as well. It was a mix between a battle cry and a an-old-man-scared-for-his-life kind of shrieking. Think, what would Peter Pan do?
Cale was getting more and more annoyed with the bird, repeatedly smashing itself against the window and he couldn’t do anything about it with the damned window open. You’d think that the dumb animal would get a hint. “Why don’t you just draw the curtains?”
Before Favian could do so, the bird gave one more bump and smashed through the window. He ducked as sheets of glass rained everywhere. And of course, he screamed. The bird was going crazy around the hallway. It moves too fast as well. Too fast for a normal bird.

Caleb still didn’t understand why the man was staring at him, half crazed. He arched an eyebrow jumping slightly at the bird when it crashed against the window. “Are you okay sir?” he asked the man politely.
Favian attempted to open his mouth once more but the bird beat him to it. It kept squawking, each squawk getting louder. Then the bird decided to keep smashing itself into the window, forming a crack. Its red eyes stared the mundane down. It shall not pass!, he wanted to say but instead, all that came out of his mouth was a hoarse scream.
"It’s okay, really. I just need a light for my cigarettes," Mat explained, lifting up the packet and shaking it lightly. He was aware that the older man was a little paranoid and afraid so he let the man take his time, "I guess you don’t …"
Favian sighed and pointed at the candle on his side table. How does one light cigarettes? I’ve never tried smoking. He held out his hand, his palm facing upwards. He was asking for a cigarette. He gave the stranger a small smile.
Derreck literally panted after all those chattering and yapping and he almost screamed a train of curses when the man still didn’t answer. Sighing, he stared at the stranger staring at him and was sure his patience was wearing thin. Before he could turn around and walk away, the man finally did something. He followed the direction of his finger and noticed the familiar crocodile stuffed toy outside a door. How did it get here? At that moment, Derreck wasn’t sure what to do. Did the man want to take it, but then he didn’t look like the type of person who hugged stuffed animals. He walked over to it, bent down and took it with one hand and gingerly sauntered back to the man, careful to put distance between them. “This,” he trailed on, lifting the toy, “is my dog’s. I have a feeling Church stole this — again — so he could irritate my pup.”
Favian reached toward the crocodile. I’m gonna get you, Peter Pan! And then a cat jumped out of nowhere and snatched th crocodile. The cat dropped it on the ground and hissed ferociously at the two men. It then proceeded to do some crazy cat dance. It looked about ready to pounce the both of them. Favian stood up to run.
Derreck sighed and ran a hand through his curls in a stressful manner. Maybe he’s lost. ”Listen, sir,” he started off, giving an emphasis on the label he addressed the man with. “I’m pretty sure you’re a nice person, and now that I’m thinking about it, you are a person — a living, breathing mund- person.” He corrected himself and kept his composure as he spoke ever so delicately to the stranger, as if he were speaking to a child as not to scare him off. “I mean the idea of faeries like myself is probably startling but I promise I won’t hurt you,” he added with a small chuckle. “I’m not as stubborn as Tinkerbell.”
Favian stared at the curly-haired-man's mouth. It was blabbering on and on, he didn't even pay to attention to whatever he was saying. Wait. Hold on. Did he just say Tinkerbell? So does Peter Pan really exist? Will I get to meet him? I wish I could be as young as him. He looked around the room and pointed at the first thing that reminded him of Peter Pan, a crocodile stuffed toy left on the floor by a door.
Matt accidentally walked into the elder man’s room. stopping at the door. He stayed where he was knowing that the man was naturally cautious towards downworlders before smiling at him - running a hand through his hair. “Do you have a lighter or some matches I may borrow?” he asked politely.
Favian was wrong. It had been ten minutes and a something did happen. A man talked to him. Why do people keep talking to me? What does he need a lighter and matches for? Is he going to make an offering? The mundane just gaped at the man. What was he supposed to do now?
Cale took a cautious step back as the mundane got closer to the window, the sun was still out and he wasn’t risking burning to death. He was now well into the shadow and safe from the sunlight.
Favian just looked at him cautiously. More like stared at him with a crazy look on his face. He opened his mouth, about to attempt to say something, something he rarely did, when a random bird squawked rather loudly and smashed straight into the window, an inch away from his face.
There was no response. No retort, no remark, no offended speech. Nothing. Was his hearing impaired? Alaric certainly hoped not. Otherwise, his wise cracks would go to waste. He cleared his throat loudly, in high hopes the old man heard him this time. “Must I repeat myself or do you normally take insults so easily?”
Favian sipped from his coffee once more and sighed contentedly to himself, ignoring the weird comments in the background. He stopped sipping when he heard a throat being cleared rather loudly. How rude, he thought as he heard the things the man said. The mundane pursed his lips.
