Hello there. I'm Gunboat Storm. I'm an agent of Equestrian CIA. Ask me whatever you wish, but please keep in mind I can only answer so much. Well, now that Tumblr’s finally ensured its own slow demise...

I’m not entirely sure what to do with this blog. I’m probably not going to delete it since I’ve got some sentimental attachment to it. For right now, I’m going to leave it be and see what happens.

If worse comes to worst, I’ll likely jump ship once I find another site to set up shop in, so if you’re still wanting to see my Sombra muse keep up his old antics, I’ll let ya’ll know what site I’ll be at.

Yes yes yes! I support Deborah.  Tumblr, I’m going to be frank with you. Rick’s a big phony, Wretched Tooth gives us very little information about himself, and Mop’s inexperience will not only lead us to disaster, but I have never, ever seen a lizard with worse taste and fashion in hats in my life.

Deborah on the other hand, is a strong willed, successful businesslizard that keeps our best interests in mind. That and look at her hat. It’s a beret. A FREAKING BERET. You know you can’t beat that! 

Don’t let Mop’s supporters mislead you from making the right choice. It’s time for Deborah.

  "Testing starts in a couple hours. I want you to get yourself familiarized with the environment here and tour the grounds. I’ll have a guard send for you around there to meet me at the training room."

As much as he’d rather start now with his trial, there were other things that Shining had to take care of beforehand. Chuckling softly, he patted the stallion’s shoulder as he exchanged glances with him.

"Just a note, wear something more comfier that you can train in. I don’t think your uniform would give you much liberty of moving swiftly. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a meeting with some boring old timers about some minor issues. But I will see you later on, Steed."

Chuckling softly, Shining saluted Steed as he would a fellow officer, leaving the stallion on the balcony to do as he wished. The clock was ticking now before the start of his exam.

Steed nodded with a smile and saluted back as Shining went off. He then looked at his uniform, deciding it would be better to change outfits before he started looking around. This thing was always pretty itchy anyway. 

After a quick trip to his ship and changing into his standard sailor outfit, which consisted of a padded white shirt and grey pants along with a green scarf, he returned started to look around from there, starting with exploring the training grounds, though careful to keep his distance enough to not disturb the guards training there.

The thud of the unicorn falling swerved the crystal pony’s head in his direction, and she instantly nosed her way out of the entrance of her shop and over to the other.  Offering a hoof to pick him back up onto his hooves, the mare’s expression changed into one of worry.

   “A-Are you alright?  That looked like a pretty nasty fall!  Do you need any medical help? I can go fetch the local doctor if you need treatment.”

The agent got back up, rubbing a light scrap on his head as he shook it. He seemed to mostly alright, but very dazed and dizzy from the impact.

“Yeah, I-I’m OK...” He replied as he stumbled slightly.

♨ Steed: "Hey, wait this isn't my shower-OH HI THERE I DID NOT NOTICE YOU."

The shrill scream that issued from the frightened crystal pony could have shattered glass. How did some random stallion get into her shower?! Why was he there?! Still screaming she hoped out of the shower, tangled herself in the curtain, and finally quieted when she fell to the crystal tiling. 

"Ouch."

Steed cringed at the sight of the crystal pony falling to the floor. Looking over at her, appearing to be just as frightened and confused as she was, he used his magic to untangle her from the shower.

"Are, uh... you alright, miss?"

  "Humble, I like that." Smirking at the stallion’s genuine humility, Shining nonetheless saw the potential in him, and wanted him to realize it. "Military training is something that can always be taught. I’d be more than willing to train you in the ways of being a military officer myself if you require it."

Shining Armor had been the one to train the Crystal Guard in terms of converting to a modernized military force. Mentoring Steed would prove to be a simple task for him. “One thing you can’t train is the etiquette you possess. That alone is enough to help you succeed in any training regiment.”

Opening the doors ahead of them, it opened up to a balcony that overlooked the training grounds of the Crystal Guard. Here is where he wanted to bring him. “You can become an elite fighter in time. And in these young times of the Empire’s rebirth, I know I’ll need select individuals to help strengthen this unit. But it won’t be as simple as me saying ‘You’re in’.”

Humble, huh? Well, now that he thought about it, his brother had always said that Steed always was one to not think much of his own capabilities, even when he had some time under Celestia's teachings. If somepony like Shining Armor could see something more in him, then maybe it could be worthwhile..

"Well, since you went through all the trouble of inviting me here... I guess it's worth a shot." He then walked to the edge of the balcony and looked down below at the training ground. It was surprisingly big, even for a castle of this size.

"...When do I start?"

"You’re right. There’s a specific reason why I asked for you to come. And it involves my little brother, Dusk Shine." It may not have been blood, but the male counterpart of his little sister did grow on him like a sibling. A soft chuckle escaped him at the mention of his name, burying his hands in the pockets of his slacks while they continued to walk.

"I recall watching you two spar some time ago, before he and I went at it. And I had to admit, I was impressed with your fighting ability. Those skills of yours are some I’d like to have within the Crystal Guard."

Steed almost stopped in his tracks as he eyes widened. Him? A part of the Crystal Guard? Did he really display that kind of skill in his match with Dusk? He didn't really even win though he did at least think he put up a decent fight. Then again, it was some time ago, and he did improve sharply, both in physical capability and magic power...

"I... I'm sorry, I was just a little caught off guard by that." He chuckled nervously. "Y-yeah, I can fight and all, but I don't have much in the way of military training. This uniform is mostly just for show, honestly, I'm just a simple sailor." 

He was being modest, but eyes and body language seemed to give the impression that he was actually quite tempted despite his efforts to conceal them.

  "Things have calmed down significantly in the past few months. Business appears to be back to normal and the excitement from the Equestrian Games has died down as well. So nothing to complain about, really." In fact, this was probably the calmest period he’s experienced since he took the throne alongside Cadance. Almost hard to believe that things were finally catching up to where they should.

"Oh yeah, that always brings a lot of excitement for ponies everywhere." Steed nods in agreement. He was happy that he wasn't the only one who had things going slow for him. Then again, after the constant threats of numerous foes, he has come to enjoy these times of quiet. "So, what do you require of me? It's not everyday a simple pony like myself is summoned all the way up here."

Inside the throne room, Shining Armor was finalizing business with some of his advisers as he was alerted of the arrival of his guest. And that was the best bit of news he had heard all day. Excusing himself, he turned towards the entrance, seeing the stallion as he was escorted in.

"Storm, thank you for coming on short notice!" Shining welcomed him in, extending a hand out towards the stallion. "Please, follow me. There’s something I wanted to talk to you about." Leading him back out of the throne room, Shining led him down another passageway. "Tell me, how have you been? It’s been months since I last saw you around here."

Steed smiles and extends his own hand, shaking Shining's. "It's no trouble at all, your majesty. It's always a pleasure!" It helped that Shining was quite casual with him. It helped him loosen up slightly as he followed him down the passageway. "Oh, not too bad. Things are kinda slow business-wise, with winter starting to come along, but I think I've saved up more then enough to last until it kicks back up again. How about you?"

A summons from the Crystal Empire by Shining Armor himself. Who would've expected that? Not Steed, that was for sure. Having sailed all the way here and being immediately escorted to the palace made the sailor a little on edge to say the least. It had been quite some time sense he had been in a castle of any sort.

What would the prince want with him? He had spoken with him a few times during his trading jobs in the empire in the past, so maybe he had something important to talk about concerning business? That was his best guess. Making a few quick adjustments to his naval uniform, he is lead to the throne room and allowed inside.

4. A pie in the face

"I have so many pies," Shining whispered, tossing a pie into Steed’s face. "So. Many."

The sailor stood there a blinked for a moment, then wiped some of the pie from his face... and proceeded to take out a pie with his magic and hit Shining in the face with it.
