((Hello everyone, it's been a long while hasn't it? I'd just like to apologize to you all for being as active as a stump and I have little excuse in the summertime. So I'll be honest with you all. I am a moderator for one other rp blog that I put so much time and effort in that it leaves Calvin neglected. I know there are those of you who think that simply one blog is a pitiful excuse when you may have 4 or 6, but for those of you who thread with me on my other account, you know how different these muses are. And sometimes even the one can get a little difficult to manage. I'll be entering college soon, so I'll need the time I can get and Calvin just won't fit in.

He is a fantastic muse, and incredibly fun to write for, I'd hate to delete him. So if you or anyone you know would be willing to take him up, please message me on my main and we'll discuss it. I still want him to be of entertainment to people, so if you take him up please do not toss him aside like I've done.

It had been a while since Calvin had been somewhere as rural and quiet as St. Petersburg. The city of Washington D.C was often crowded and loud so this felt a little weird but…in a calming sort of way. It kinda sucked though, because as much as he enjoyed the surroundings, he would be leaving it soon. He was on his way to New Orleans to meet a client and he had to wait at the rest stop in little Saint Petersburg.

Man this ferry was taking forever, he was almost tempted to head into town to see what he could find to eat.

Everyone in St. Petersburg was naturally weary of mysterious strangers that come through as they are a rarity and none so strange-looking as this one had attracted so much attention since those siamese twins that came through with the circus. A hush curiosity over what business he may have in their sleepy town was on everyone’s mind though they weren’t brash enough to ask it. However, such an odd spectacle was a blessing to the otherwise mundane lifestyle that Tom Sawyer had to endure.

By and by Tom moved closer with each inspection taking into account the oddities this stranger possessed. Most notable was the glasses—while most folks wore them to improve their eyesight, his were all black and the boy wondered how a body could see through those things. 

He straightened himself up and cracked a boyish smile because even if this stranger was blinded by those things it was still a politeness in presentation his aunt beat into him every now and then. He took a deep breath and spoke:

Man was Calvin getting hungry. He wanted to ask someone if they knew any food joints around, but they kept giving him this weird look as if he were some sort of alien. It was kind of funny, he had to admit. He was pretty used to such looks. But because of his one-shot mind, he wasn't aware that he was being followed until he heard someone pipe up from behind him and made him jump a little from being caught off-guard.

"Hm?" he turned to see a funny lookin' kid. Teenager, more than likely, and judging by his appearance, he was guessing a bit of a roughneck.

"Hey kid," he answered with an amused smile.

“Ah, hello there. I don’t suppose you’ve seen a boy with a purple streak in his hair dance by here? Or someone with sand pouring off of them?”

“No, but that sounds pretty fuckin’ awesome. They supposed to be some sort of performers you lookin’ for?”

“I wish. The one with the purple streak is my… friend, I guess. He’s supposed to be looking for the guy who made a contract with an Imagin. The one with the sand pouring off him.”

"Really? And that's...... a bad thing, I guess?" 

"What's the contract for?" Calvin was a man of boldness and an uncontrolled curiosity. In other words, he didn't mind getting into other people's business, even when he himself didn't like to give too much away.

“I guess that makes me special, because I’m fit as a fiddle.”

Alright, well that might’ve been a lie. He did feel a little weak in the knees and a sharp pain in his chest, but he stubbornly kept up his stature in front of this guy. He seemed like the kind of person who kept his nose higher than his head, and would probably scoff at such weakness. So naturally, Cal kept up with his lousy charade.

“Name’s Calvin. Kind of a funny thing to say about this place. Like it’s some kind of forbidden realm or something.”

Poor kid. A fairly good liar though. That’d be enough to keep Chaos amused for a quick minute at least.

“Forbidden realm, more or less. Nevewhere doesn’t actually exist luv~ Even if you don’t feel it now, you’ll start feeling it soon enough.” Xe smiled lightly. “It starts out small at first, pain in the chest, a weakness in the knees. Eventually your blood will start literally boiling. It really is a thing of beauty.”

"Great story, I love it when they end with a slow, agonizing death. No lie. But uh, there is one thing about it that kind of defeats the idea a little."

"How are you still standing?" If there was one thing Calvin had trouble believing, it was divine control and 'special abilities'. Even when he was already sharing a somewhat casual conversation with a being of possibly a great power.

Truth was Melicertes wasn’t all that good with with names especially those of these newer cities in the Americas. “Something along those lines,” He admitted. “I was going to meet someone ay one of the museums here … Though I can’t remember which one exactly.”

“Nooo kidding,” he muttered to himself when he got the car going and drove off on the streets.

Calvin wasn’t gonna argue with her on the payment issue, after all, his wallet was in his pocket if ever he decided to sneak a payment.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Calvin finally spoke up and asked,”So you said you got into some sort of fight on a mission, right? Did you…win or what?”

Kim sighed,  she could tell he was as uncomfortable as her with the silence. “Yea I was fighting a nemesis, she seen through my disguise…I’m lucky I didn’t get torn to pieces, it was a villain’s ball, and one of my arch-foe’s side kick noticed me, she beat the utter shit outta me, I’m going to pay for it in the morning.”

"Ouch, That must've been rough. I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that this wasn't your day," he laughed. Alright, he could laugh now, but god forbid he fails a mission miserably. The man wouldn't even be able to drive home properly he'd be SO mad.

"I don't need to drive you to the hospital too, do I?"

While making his way to the phone, he took note of some photos she had around as well as the furniture and decor. Really to him she seemed like a normal lady. Whatever ‘weird DNA’ it was his client suspected of her was a mystery to him. But a job was a job, so it probably wasn’t any of his business.

“Oh nothing much except that when the car broke down and he sees me drunk with a pretty lady, he’ll think I’ve been reckless and probably could have ran over a pedestrian or something.” Then again, knowing him, that could have been a regular worry even when he’s sober.

Ariadne, hearing him calling her “pretty lady”, blushed slightly. But he was not able to see her reaction. Feeling a bit proud, she smiled at herself and said: “I cannot handle compliments, I have to be honest. Your assumption is totally correct” she commented.

“It seemed that I forgot good manners, my name is Ariadne Dubois by the way” she muttered coming back at him with a glass of coke and taking a sip from it. “What is yours, handsome guy?”

Oh, someone was feeling a little sweet. Calvin had a huge smirk running on one side of his face by the time he reached the phone.

"Well miss Dubois," his tone briefly changed to something pretty close to mockery, but he couldn't help himself. Being polite was hardly an act he could maintain for very long.

"The name's Calvin Smith," false last name, as usual,"friends just call me Calvin. You here all by yourself?" he asked before picking up the phone and dialing a number in. Thank god he was born in a generation where caller ID was just barely peeking its head in.

Kim groaned, it was going to be a long car journey and she just wanted to go home, get a hot bath say her good-nights to her family and collapse on her bead. Of course she would tell Ron about her mission. 

“Nah, I’ll pay for myself, after all…I’m paying for you petrol too, I’d feel bad if I let you pay for something…after all, no one asked you to help me and I appreciate it Calvin.”  Kim picked up the Taco Bell bag and pulled out a napkin, before noticing how much food was in it.  She pulled the flap on the ceiling of the car to reveal a mirror so she could see clearly where she was scrubbing, Her make-up was all streaked across her face, so she looked like a confused hooker.  She scrubbed at the eye make up until there was no sign of it left on her face, she left her lipstick since that wasn’t as smudged. After she cleaned up she revealed a rather youth-full face. Happy with her appearance she flipped the mirror back and pulled her hair out of the tight bun. Her hair flew past her shoulders and rested just under her breast-bone.  “It’s going to be a long drive….”

A little dinosaur who's talking from a small box. Could you help me? I'd like to come out but it's impossible. I'd be your friend, you can give me a name. I'm so friendly.

“A dinosaur, huh?”

He snickers at the answer, but picks up the box nonetheless.

“So if you’re stuck in a box, how do you know I’m not the kind of person who eats little dinosaurs? That would kinda suck for you, wouldn’t it?”
