“There’s really three cheeks that aren’t as red as they could be.” Kai murmured, the words slipping out before he could stop them. He hoped the other man didn’t hear it while he stalked back over to his seat, hiding his very red face behind a bunch of already graded papers. Well at least he’d been a good kisser…or at least he hoped that’s what the red face meant. “Yes I am very lucky to have such a merciful dude in here with me. He spares my one cheek, he spares my ribs from a massive bruising. Thanks dude.”

He watched him pick up his cup with a look of distaste and couldn’t help but grin again. “Sooo that looks awful cold, y’know in about fifteen minutes that guy’s attention span is gonna be all used up and I could maybe grab you something warm, that is, if you’d let me back in once I left. And yeah, I kinda would like to know. S’why I asked silly.”

“Do not.” As luck would have it, or maybe not have it in this case, Reg did have excellent hearing. And the suggestive comments were definitely not helping with the blush. If he wasn’t worried about knocking over his stack of papers, he probably would have smacked the other man several more times. “You are very lucky. I could bring you up for sexual harassment if I wanted to.”

He’s so close, so close, to just chucking the other man out. But, he does have a point. Reg checks his watch with a grimace and looks back and forth between the papers and the man. He could kick him out, but then he faced the very real problem of losing the steam to continue marking. He could go get coffee himself, but then he’d be wasting more time and he couldn’t exactly afford that. As much as it pained him to do so, it was the most logical option. “Fifteen minutes. That’s it. No more, no less. Then you can get me a large caramel latte. Skim milk, no whip, and as many shots as they can fit. And would you like me to slap you again so you can find out?”

WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT

“Oooooow.” Kai whined, rubbing at the now sore spot on his cheek. “Okay so maybe I deserved that a lil…but still man no need to be so harsh. I thought that fuckin brick shit house was gonna come in here so I uh, did the first thing I could think of. Totally forgot he locked the door….I’d like to point out that if he did come in here and see me though, he’d have totally kicked the shit out of me, meaning he’d have probably messed up your papers man. I was trying to do something for the both of us with that move. Promise.” He leaned against the table, trying hard not to imagine the man slapping him in other less…panicked circumstances. “Anyway lemme make it up to you somehow maybe? I can totally be your personal coffee boy and paper runner once I’m sure the big dude’s given up on finding me. I make and also order great cappuccinos .” He tried for a charming grin, wincing as it stretched the red skin on his cheek.

“So you slap like that all the time or is it just when you’re really pissed off?”

“You’re god damn right you deserved that! It’s less than you deserve! You can’t just come in and kiss someone with no...no prompting or anything! And don’t you dare try to act like you were trying to do me a favor by doing it because your other cheek is not as red as it could be.” He huffed as he shoved the man out of the way of the table, looking over his papers as an excuse to hide this damn blush that won’t go away. At least he could hopefully attribute that to the anger still. “No. Shut up. You’re lucky I don’t throw you out there right now and call him back down here.”

He growled in frustration when he moved his coffee cup from the papers to keep it from creating a ring and realized that it was cold so he could indeed go for a cappuccino right then. “And wouldn’t you like to know.”

“Hiding is what I’m doing dawg and I kinda can’t really do it anywhere but here since the giant dude i’m hiding from his out there and-hello.” Kai paused, finally getting a good look at the hot older dude sitting in the small room’s only chair. Please god let him be a TA and not a professor. Please let him be willing to forget this whole thing later. “Look man I’ll be extra quiet dude. It’s all part of the whole hiding thing and I definitely won’t touch any of your uh, super important papers man. Furreal.”

He moved a lil closer, his smile quickly turning to a grimace when he heard the yelling from outside coming closer. “OH shit.” He needed to hide. Hide more. And this would be way easier if he wasn’t so drunk fuck. The angry voice was almost outside the door now and Soren did the only thing he could think of, rushing forward to grab at the hot hopefully-TA’s face and mash it to his in an admittedly not superb kiss. It was a real testament to Kai’s priorities in life that he could manage to correct the kiss within a second,but he couldn’t think of a better way to hide from his angry pursuer in the same span of time. Behind them the doorknob rattled a few times and the guy banged against the wood of the door, once, twice, before giving up and stalking farther off down the hall. Kai let go of the hot dude’s face, moving away a bit. “Huh…So I totally forgot I locked that…sssssorry.”

“Hello. Wait. No, not hello. Get out. It’s none of my concern what you did to a giant anyone.” Reg positively scowled at the other man, pushing his glasses up from where they had slid down slightly as he eyed him. He was not particularly fond of how the man’s gaze had gone from slightly panicked to more...primal in intent and he did not really want to find out why. “And you’re not doing a very good job of being quiet which is just disproving your point.”

He was about to stand and hopefully goad the man into leaving when all at once... Well, he didn’t exactly know what was happening right away. The lips hit his and it took a moment to register. Maybe even two moments. Then after that it wasn’t realization that kept him from moving so much as shock at the situation. His hands sat rested on the arms of the chair and he watched the other man continue to kiss him with wide eyes. Just as he finally mustered up the coherency to push the man away, he pulled back on his own and Reg was left staring with his cheeks getting warm. The cogs started moving again and Reg stood, took one look at the man, and drew his hand back to provide him with a firm, open hand slap across the face.

He hissed at the pain in his hand as he shook it to relieve the sting and shot a nasty glare across the room. “Going to explain yourself? Or shall I do that again?!”

Kai probably should have been a lil more exacting when he’d asked the girl if she had a boyfriend. If he’d maybe pressed the question a lil further before hooking up with her he wouldn’t be running down the hall now, trying his best to put as much distance as he possibly could between himself and 400 pounds of jealous linebacker. Normally this was the part of the night where he’d find Roro to use as a his personal brand of growly asshole deterrent, but the last time he’d seen RO he’d had a drunk freshman hanging off his shoulders, so that course of action was probably closed to him. Instead, he did the only sensible thing he could think of, ducking into the nearest empty room and closing and locking the door behind him. Unfortunately the room he’d chosen seemed to be occupied. “Uh hey, sorry wow. So I’m just here for a minute or two, or twenty, don’t mind me.”

Reg should have been more careful choosing a study room further away from the noise and the bulk of the campus. But, marking papers was marking papers and with the end of the school year looming he didn’t exactly have time to be picky, or the guts to piss off the prof he was marking for. Besides, he could zone out fairly easily as he went over what felt like the hundredth analysis of the same time period. Zone out so much, in fact, that he didn’t notice the door open, or close, or lock. But, he did hear the voice.

The voice that nearly caused him to fall out of his chair in surprise. He did manage to retain some dignity though, using the movement to swivel the chair around and come face to face with the slightly messy, slightly intoxicated man. He frowned as what was said finally began to register and shook his head. “No. I’m busy you can’t just barge in and you can’t just stay here. Go find some place else to do....whatever it is you’re doing.”

It was the last thing he’d expected either, especially as he wasn’t really paying attention and ended up walking straight into Wyoming as he was leaving South’s room. He looked at him a little apologetically for a second, then wondered what he’d been doing in there. “Could say the same to you, Wyoming,” he said with a shrug. “Is South in there,” He asked, glancing behind him to try and peek into the room and see if he could see the person he was looking for and his dog.

He grunted a bit at the sudden bump into him, not expecting that either since he had stopped short enough. But at the small glance in apology he returned a curt nod to show no harm done. He was going to ask if York knew where south was, but the man’s question did negate his own. “Not unless she’s hiding under her bed. Which, I don’t believe to be likely given the mess under it.” Sighing, he stepped to the side so York could see past him to confirm what he said. “The little hellion took off somewhere. And of course decided to take my cat with her. And of course didn’t think to ask first.”

Normally when York returned to his room at the end of the day, his little puppy was all over him, jumping up, yapping excitedly, and licking at his face when he finally picked him up. But the room was quiet for a change, and D was nowhere in sight, which should have been more worrying, except it wasn’t uncommon for South to just come along and steal his dog whenever she felt like it. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he started to make his way to South’s room to retrieve him, knowing that she’d be giving him nothing but treats and probably messing up some of the training he’d been giving him too.

Gary missing usually meant one thing and one thing only. Since he was typically well behaved, and rarely left the room without Reg accompanying him, it usually meant a kidnapping. And a kidnapping was usually performed by South. Even if Reg had any doubts about who had stolen his cat, those were quickly brushed aside when he realized just how much his room smelled like vanilla. Given that South made an effort to make his accommodations smell like her every time she visited, it was clearly her.

With a tired sigh he had made his way to South’s room, not bothering with knocking and just walking right in, to of course find it empty. Picking up some trash she had laying next to her bed and depositing it in the bin, he tried to determine where she had gone as he left her room and unexpectedly, and almost quite literally bumped into-

“Agent York. Did not expect to see you here.”

right. so. reg is a history major grad student who mainly functions as a ta for one prof, then attends a few courses of his own, as well as offering small bits of tutoring on the side. he lives just a few minutes off campus in a small flat and pretty much off of his parent’s dollar at this point in time. he’s a member of the lacrosse team and the archery club and that’s about it.
