Lol this is the JK Rowling incident all over again
If Craig said Cedric was a power ranger and is a brother of Captain America from DC universe who Is also Batman btw who got transported to Enchancia... Y'all will still think that's canon to the show lol
Craig may have made the concept - but the show is made by a couple or writers. There is even an another producer named Jamie Mitchell. Now unless Craig made the whole show on his own, his words holds no weight in what's canon or not. The show doesn't even follow his pitch bible religiously.
There are some few changes they've made that's against Craig's vision - meaning this is a whole different universe than what he has in store
And have we forgotten that he literally had spewed out things about stf that doesn't make sense? Like Cedric having a little sister named Cordelia when all this time it was Cordelia who's older and he had to live behind her shadow all his life causiñg the subplot in through the looking back glass episode?
What about his parents having whole different names? Or the fact that they are deleted from this world??
But in the show they are well alive and have different names.
A "producer" who doesn't even know the lore of his own show definitely isn't a credible source for what's canon in the stf universe. An actual smart person would base what's canon on things that are actually presented in the show itself and not from some tweet of a producer who barely knows the show's own lore
Like I said, this is pretty much JK Rowling all over again lol only difference is the fandom is more gullible this time and will believe anything.
You have an issue with your argument. The multiple different sources that can be cited as closest thing to fact for a fantasy world back up the fact that Cedric is late 30s. Is Craig always reliable? NO! Is his Show Draft bible 100% reliable? Not at all! These are all true statements. The problem you have overseen however, is that unlike with past inconsistencies this time BOTH of these sources are backed up by the facts that are canon IN the show itself. One of the "facts" in the show that you've tried to say contradict the fact that Cedric is around the same age as Roland, is that you've tried to point out that he looks much younger than Roland, by looking at his face in the flashback. Similarly however, I can also argue in the same way that he much more closely resembles a late 30 year old. Look at the bags under his eyes, and his more crouched posture. These are signs of aging. Something a 20 year old wouldn't show, but only someone in their later 30s. Also, another in show "fact" I can point out is that the rivalry between Roland and Cedric was only formed because they were able to be rivals due to their ages being similar. To form a rivalry with a much older child than yourself is not something that would as likely occur. With all of this, unlike with you, these "facts" I pointed out not only coincide neatly with the show, but with the other closest things to a fact that we can get: one of the creators opinions AND his early draft. If you want to headcanon that Cedric is in his 20s that is ok, BUT to act like that is MORE canon than him being in his late 30s is honestly very disingenuous.
You just mentioned Craig not being reliable as a source of canon information.
That pretty much wraps up your argument. And you pretty much confirmed it.
I said he's not ALWAYS reliable. Just like any creator, they may sometimes say things that contradict the show. Cedric being late 20s is NOT contradicted ever. You may have headcanon theories that would go against him being late 30s, but that's not fact.
And him being mid 30s as a rookie Royal Sorcerer fresh out of Hexley Hall doesn't make sense. And that's your headcanon
That alone sets the difference between the two age brackets. Mine makes sense in the show - yours make sense in the fandom and twitter
