1. What patterns did you find in the development, or enhancement, of your research skills?
I originally was going to interview a plastic surgeon Dr. Martin for the paper, but then as I started to write the questions and go over them again, and again. I asked myself, is this paper going to be about a surgeons perspective or is it suppose to be more along the lines of a patients view. So I changed my interview from a surgeon to a patient who has had a breast augmentation. This helped me answer more questions that the paper was needing to touch base on.
2. Did your assessment/evaluation of the sources change? If so, how?
My sources did change and are still changing. I would read an article that would sound like what the paper needed, but as I would read more it turned out to not be so good. So I had to do more research and change the sources. The evaluation also changed as well, I would look at the paper and think how it could be more cohesive or flow better. Which that had an impact on the sources as well, cause one article would say something, but it wouldn’t mesh well with another.
3. Do you think the methodology described in questions 1 and 2 work? Yes/No? Explain.
Yes, I think that it did work. I would be able to assess and evaluate the paper so I would be able to see what it might be missing, or what I could improve on.
4. Select one of the questions listed and explain the rhetorical choices you made towards answering the question.
The question for number 3 rhetorical choices that I made while answering the question is, I would write a page or two. After I was done I would walk away for awhile then come back and reread the paper. I would see what sounded good, what needed improvement, or what I just needed to get rid of. Then I would ask myself what is it that I really want to know, what is the message that I am trying to get across? These rhetorical aspects really helped me, and are still helping me while I finish up these last few pages.
