JJ and Emily in Season 19

For 18 seasons they have been each other's ride or die but in season 19 they barely have time for each other. My theory Married/grieving JJ is safe. She can be extremely close to Emily without any implications.

JJ was there for her when she 'died' (followed her to Paris).

She leaves Afghanistan when Emily's in trouble no questions asked.

While she is held hostage by Askari, she hallucinated Emily.

She the one to talk Emily down when she wants to quit ('it give me you speech').

Many small moments throughout the seasons.

Not to mention all the way Emily has shown up for JJ.

Emily being the one to help JJ in the aftermath of Spencer's abduction

Emily offering comfort and support for JJ at the hospital when Penelope was shot.

Emily leaves job in London to rescue JJ when she abducted by Askari.

Emily support for her following Will's death.

Emily also has many small moments throughout the seasons where she has supported JJ.

Emily and JJ spent more time together in the past 20 years than other characters (except JJ and Penelope). The closeness was safe she was married. Now they are both single, JJ is no longer safe, they haven't been in the same scene longer then a few seconds. The lack of interaction is noteworthy and so out of character for both of them.

In contrast, Penelope and JJ's relationship has remained present and consistent. This season she has helped JJ move, helped with the boys, and gave JJ a place to stay when she needed. Also this season we have seen Penelope having an active dating life, not to mention her support for Luke (galvez is alive).

I want more screen time for the Emily and JJ relationship. I also wouldn't mind more Tara and Rebecca on my screen either. I miss my Criminal minds ladies being together.

CM: Evolution season 19 thoughts

In the 1st 4 episodes it seems that they are separating the ladies from each other for any meaningful time, ( with the exception of JJ & Penelope). There is some interactions amoung the women but its just not enough. The shared screen time of Emily and JJ to me is so minimal if you blink you miss it, while also serving no purpose but to set up something else or to move to the next scene.

I have however really enjoyed Penelope this season. She seems to be living her best life. She has her Mr. Wensday and her Mr. Saturday but also still has time for Luke.

And while I'm not the biggest fan of Tyler I have enjoyed Papa Rossi and Emily mentoring him in becoming a better profiler, specifically the dynamic between Rossi and Emily.

Tara and Rebecca both are looking exceptionally gorgeous this season, marriage suits them.

I just want more of the ladies on my screen.

Stop making criminal minds gay! Emily is straight, JJ is with Will, Spencer was with Maeve, Garcia is with Kevin. Not everyone is gay!!! Stop trying to make something happen that's not true!!

Oh, salty anon is salty!! Let’s talk about this, like adults. Awesome, sassy, GAY, adults.

Emily has never come out and said “I’m straight” (neither have any of the other characters for that matter….soooo I could just stop there but I won’t) The only time Emily has talked about dating she is adamantly talking AGAINST dating men. In the episode where she’s talking about having a date she simply says “You don’t understand I’m a nerd!” and never mentions the sex of her date. In 5x21 she and JJ are talking about a guy Emily met and JJ is saying “Oh he sounds just your type.” and Emily makes the biggest eye roll and shrug about it. In 52 Pickup Hotch is worried about Emily going to the bar and she says, “Viper? I’ve dated worse people than him” NOT men, but PEOPLE. Also there is the fact that Emily was SUPPOSED to be canonly queer but CBS nixed the idea. Not to mention she enjoys the fashion of cargo pants, combat boots, oxfords and over sized belts. Don’t even get me started on all the times she stares at JJ longingly. Emily is a lesbian. 

You’re right! JJ is with Will. But here’s the magic about bisexuals (now this is top secret so don’t go spreading it around the internet) BIsexual means BOTH genders. Just because she’s married to Will DOES NOT mean she can’t also be attracted to women. She also longingly stares at Emily numerous times over the years. She can be married to a man and still appreciate Emily. JJ is bisexual.

Spencer Reid is straight you’re right. But he’s not heterosexual. Confused? That’s fine, I’ll go slowly. Asexual persons do not experience sexual attraction but this does not mean all asexuals do not experience romantic attraction. Spencer loved Maeve, that is 100% accurate. But he has never outwardly shown sexual attraction to the few women he has had romantic encounters with. He can be heteroromantic and want to kiss and cuddle his partners without wanting to have sex with them. Spencer is Asexual Heteroromantic.

Garica is with Kevin. Again, good job! You’ve been paying attention. But again, just because someone is in an opposite sex relationship does not make them straight. Penelope experiences attraction to ALL genders, female/male/non-binary. Penelope loves everyone! She is a sparkly perky unicorn and does not discriminate when looking for a mate. Penelope is pansexual.

Derek, Derek is straight. So you’re good there. Well…he’s heterosexual but he’s still biromantic.

So anyway, point being you’re right about one thing. I don’t think anyone on this show is GAY. Because I don’t think any of the males are homosexual. But I know that everyone else has their own letter in the LGBTQPIA alphabet soup.

Celebrating TEN YEARS of Queerminal Minds 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I can’t believe it’s been a whole decade since I received this Anon, which wound up sparking an entire subsection of the Criminal Minds fandom.

I never imagined my silly little tag would still be something adored and loved ten years later. I am forever humbled and in awe of the amazing writers, artists, gif makers, headcanon engineers, and everyone in between who have contributed to this tag over the years.

This show is specifically well-noted for its bisexual representation as the lead character has love relationships with both males and females.

It's an ensemble main cast like Buffy, however the leads are female and much of the storytelling revolves around the females than the males. I would consider the men in this show more like supporting characters because it is very female-driven both in cast and behind-the-camera.

This show is what put Emily Andras on the map to develop her show Wynonna Earp as she wrote a lot of the episodes. If nothing else is worth it about watching the show - it's following her creative vision and her professional career into how she became a TV showrunner herself.

Anyway, enjoy. This is the last show I'll be uploading to Google Drive but I will be working on re-uploading She-Ra next as the original link has been taken down and I know a lot of you guys asked for that show.

Criminal Minds rewatch thoughts (s14-15, s15-1)

Season 15 was the final season of the original run so the writers could have had some satisfying conclusions for our beloved characters, these two episodes however were the opposite.

JJ telling Spencer that she loves him I can accept because love comes in many forms. If they had left it with JJ's explanation that she had to say something that would get both Reid's and the unsubs attention; ok fine. The writer's could have still used this as a catalyst for Spencer going to therapy to deal with his fellings.

My issue come in the next episode when she further elaborates that he was her first love. Why ? How does it serve the story? The whole thing contradicts a scene in an earlier episode where she explains to Emily about how Spencer asked her to a Redskins game not realizing he meant it as a date and invited Penelope along. No hint of romance or 'what if' feelings, it's so inconsistent. Also, if true she did have those feelings why didn't they do somthing more with it? The Redskins 'date' happed in season one, way before Will (and Emily). There was no tension between them. No hint beyond this episode that there was anything beyond friendship.

In my opinion, this is just fan service from the writers to the jreid shippers and is no better than queer baiting because it goes nowhere.

I think having JJ tell him that he was her first love just serves to hurt Spencer and cheapens thier friendship. Also the way they frame it as some secret makes JJ relationship with Will as less. Either way the whole thing just felt wrong and ultimately went nowhere.

Celebrating one of the best RPG ever made Mass Effect. Mass Effect 2 will always be my favorite but I love the series as a whole. Looking forward to what happens next.

Criminal Minds rewatch-Emily's replacement(s) thoughts

Watching Criminal Minds without Emily Prentiss feels strange. I did it once when it originally aired, I was upset when she got fired. It feels like she was gone too long although they do mention her in several episodes, which was/ is bittersweet.

Upon my rewatch I realize Alex Blake was a better character than I initially gave her credit for. I was mad about Paget Brewster firing and never gave her a fair chance. During this rewatch I actually liked her character. She fit well with the team. She brought a nerdy mature female presence with just enough friction ( with Strauss) to be interesting. Her exit felt abrupt and out of the blue, makes me wonder what happened behind the scenes.

Kate Callahan wasn't around long either. There really nothing wrong with her, she never clicked with me as a character even on a rewatch.

I'm currently in the beginning of the Tara Lewis era and feeling a little more settled. I always liked her character, partly due to my love for Aisha Tyler. It's also good to see a person of color back in the cast.

Still looking forward th the return of Emily Prentiss because no one could fill her shoes.

Criminal Minds rewatch thoughts

The writers did Specer dirty...season 8 episode 12 Zugzwang...

Killing Meave before they get a chance at happiness with the one person who got him, was as smart as him and his perfect match.

Criminal Minds Season 2-14 & 15 rewatch thoughts

These 2 episodes are, in my mind, seminal in criminal minds cannon. The Tobias Hankle arc has ripple effects on BAU team for seasons to come. There are plot lines and bread crumbs dropped throughout that lead to pivotal moments later in the series. The most immediate one being Reid's addiction, that has lasting effects on him. In these episodes, Reid goes through being taken, tortured and drugged but keeps his head enough to talk to all unsubs personalities to find an out, eventually shooting him. He also aware enough to get message to team all while high out of his mind, which speaks to the strength of his mind and character.

During this arc we also get hints that there is more to Emily meets the eye. When JJ asks "how come none of this get to you?" Even Hotch notices. Emily deflects by being exceptional at compartmentalization. In season 6 we find out the truth about her past in a 5 episode arc (Ian Doyle) when she worked for JTF-12 in classified missions.

Media liaison JJ out in the field with Reid she seems unsure and defers to him. He's the profiler and has more experience. Reid being taken is one of the experiences that help JJ become the profiler she is in the future. She learns from this and later in the season (episode 2-22) she has gained confidence in the field and tells Reid "this time we don't split up". She's not someone to make the same mistake twice. At this point in the series JJ is happy being the media liaison these early experiences shape the bad ass she becomes.

One of my favorite scene scenes ever in Criminal Minds

One of my favorite team scenes ever is the opening bar scene in episode 2 -14. Within these few minutes we get a glimpse of the personality of the characters away from work.

First there's Derek dancing with two women, Emily warning him to watch his wallet"It's all right, I'll be a broke, happy man." Playing up his player image, when we all know he is a big softie.

Penelope looks at him like she could eat him up and enjoy every second of it while comparing his moves to a cat. She vehemently defends him when Emily and Hayley compare him dog/alley cat. (I still think they should have been a thing).

JJ in her little red top and tight jeans being a dart champion destroying the guys when you know they underestimated her. JJ knows it and proceeds to "humiliate" them. She even gets one last dig in as she leaves.

Reid being adorable nerdy self while playing a Startrek drinking game.

All in all everything is good fun and carefree until the unwanted call.

I stand by my initial thoughts about that scene (link below). I would like to add some additional thoughts.

I still believe Emily's intentions were disarm JJ and give her space to grieve her loss, make her laugh and get out of her head; she was definitely caught off guard by JJ's reaction/question. I don't think she was expecting JJ to immediately put herself forward as the female candidate. A)because she was married at the time. B) the assumption that JJ is straight.

Now she may have expected a question like "did you consider it (a threesome)?" Or maybe even would/have you ever done it?", but not for JJ to go to herself. Her response to me was purely for protection because the look on her face said the complete opposite of her words.

And JJ seeing Emily's face when she asks "who?" putting herself in the mix right away, because she can read Emily like a book. I don't think she fully buys Emily's response either of the conversation never getting that far. JJ just smiles like " yeah ok, whatever you say" because if he kept pushing eventually he would suggest someone.

As a jemily shipper, my headcannon of this scene is Emily has definitely thought about sleeping with JJ in the past (probably before she married Will). I believe that Emily respected JJ (and her relationship w/ Will) too much to ever cross that line. Also, I don't believe she would ever want to share that experience of being with JJ with Mendoza (or anyone). I also feel like JJ would know how Emily feels/has felt about her, they have been through too much together for her not to. She just knows Emily too well.

There is something about Emily Prentiss in cargo pants, hiking/combat boots and tank tops.

I mean she looks good in whatever she wears but, for me, peak Emily is definitely in cargo pants...oh and off center belt. I want more of that Emily.
