Food delivery in Jakarta has changed quite much since last year. It’s much cheaper and much easier to have food delivered in the J-town (compared to Europe). Every restaurants offer to deliver food nowadays with no minimum order and a delivery charge as low as less than 1 Euro. Pics above are food I have ordered in the past week (yes im so lazy and i dont wanna suffer in Jakarta traffic!). From yummy spaghetti with fried chicken from wendys, japanese bento box, indo noodles from GM and traditional spicy indo ribs from leko <3 <3

Now it’s even easier with Go-Food that they basically can pick up your food order basically everywhere. In Germany, I always spend at least 14 EUR to have food delivered. A good thing in Jakarta too is fast food restaurants offer 24hr delivery. It’s perfect for a person with a frequent late-night hunger like me :D

Tahu tek tek. One of indonesian delicacies <3 I can’t really find lots of these on Jakarta streets. I only know one good street vendor but I havent gotten the time to go over there. So I ended up eating this in the (overpriced) food court at the mall. It’s still around 3,5 Euros though. God bless goooood cheap asian food! nomnomnom

Cafe-hopping culture in Jakarta. I kinda miss this. Starbucks used to be my go-to coffeeshop but nowadays there has been so many coffee shops opening up in the J-town -in and outside malls (surprisingly)-. Indos don’t go to the library to study. We just go to one of these hip places ;D People can just casually order a drink (around 3-4 EUR) and sit for hours. These places are always equipped with Wi-Fi and plugs tho. European cafes are nice too but not as hip and innovative as in Jakarta and usually occupied by older folks. The drinks they offer in the durion town aren’t simply basic ice cappuccino or latte too. Mine on the pics above are iced watermelon lychee from Blacklisted, iced popcorn caramel candy from Djournal and iced toblerone from Woodpecker Coffee.

Don’t miss Jakarta traffic though --recently traumatized--.
