okay, so i’m not allowed to watch movies with my friends anymore because everytime I do, I notice random shit about the movie that either doesn’t make sense, or totally changes the perspective of the movie.
FOR EXAMPLE
eddie’s million dollar bake off
queer allegory for eddie and hannah being closeted
eddie’s interest for “something girly” (cooking), is supposed to be him being gay
him playing baseball is coded for him being closeted and presenting as straight
same with hannah pretending to be a cheerleader to her mom, when she was playing on the team
there’s no way the baking teacher wasn’t a little bit gay…. like LOOK at her, she’s either ace or a lesbian i swear
bridget simmons represents the only kid that’s out and gets bullied for being out
the dad represents people who don’t understand being anything other that straight bc it’s all they’ve been conditioned to know (ex. when he says don’t throw like a girl even tho hannah’s a pitcher, and that whole scene)
also that scene when eddie’s sneaking into the kitchen to make food, idk what that was but it def wasn’t a straight moment i know that 👀
I realize after typing this super bulletpointed list that this will only make sense to people who’ve seen eddie’s million dollar bake off, but at the same time I really don’t have energy to make another list for another movie…
SO if you want you can give me a movie to do, and i can run more movies (while typing this, i realize im definitely starting a pandora’s box for movies, but it’s FINE)
