Obi-wan: Are you insane?
Anakin: No, I'm a Skywalker.
Ahsoka: That's a yes.
Dark Side Ahsoka
ahsokathewise:
Ahsoka wasn’t surprised by his negative reaction to her explanation of what happened, why she vanished. “Ezra did what he had to do to save me just like I’m doing what I have to do to save Anakin . He didn’t give up on me like I didn’t give up on my brother. It might not have happened how you wanted it to but at least it happened.” she snapped. She wasn’t about to let what he said get to her, nor should it. He could try all he wanted but wouldn’t succeed.
She watched him as he turned, hearing what he said next. “It will be there and I know because I have something you don’t, faith.” she answered confidently as she turned and started to lead the way to the portal.
The togruta kept her eyes ahead as she walked, turning her head slightly when she heard him speak again. Her mind went back to those times and being out on her own. Granted she wasn’t always alone having made a few friends along the way. But nothing was ever the same, not like when she was with her brother.
“I wanted to contact you many times and I didn’t. I thought it was better if I didn’t despite how much I missed you.” she answered, eyes to the ground, feeling horrible about that decision now, soon turning her eyes back to him, “Though, there was a time I did try to contact you through the force.” she added. “You weren’t a terrible person. You were the best of all the Jedi in the Order and I was lucky enough to be taught by you. I’m grateful for that. You’re the best big brother anyone could ask for.”
—
“Yeah well, you were wrong. You weren’t there when I needed you in the months after you left. We could have helped each other, and gotten to make times to meet up and…” He sighed and just looked away from the artifact.
“I needed you and I just….I tried talking to Obi-Wan but you know how he is,” He says as he shakes his head, still following her, “And I am not a good brother, clearly. Not when I…” he trails off, thinking of how he had killed the people in the temple that had also called him a brother.
“So this portal…what’s it even supposed to bring us to? And how would we go anywhere, really?” He asks as he frowns a bit, rubbing at his chin a bit, “It still just seems so…out there as he frowns a bit, just looking confused thinking of what she’s described. He just needed to see this place and this portal. Perhaps then he would know…
“Well since you’ve got my attention you might as well ask questions as I am rather bored. I don’t promise I will answer them though.” He says as a warning.
Ahsoka remained unshocked by his negative responses. She knew Anakin understood or she hoped he did at least. He didn’t seem to hold her decision against her from what she recalled. This was clearly all Vader, a way for him to get under her skin more without a saber.
“I came back. And you were happy to see me. We didn’t have time to catch up with everything going on but we did have our moments together like nothing really changed.” she replied with a soft sigh as she remembered that time. “You could have left the Temple with me. And you were supposed to come with me to Mandalore and I wish you had. You had choices too and if anyone made the wrong choice here, it was you.” she said, jabbing back at him.
“It brings us to a place called a world between worlds.” she answered, saying no more and watching as Morai flew closer to where the portal was, chirping to let her know they were getting closer. She wasn’t going to give him too much information, it would be best if he saw it for himself.
She had so many questions but was unsure where to start, especially with the threat of them not being answered. She did have one that she couldn’t resist asking, one she just had to know now. “You know my reasons for what I did, leaving the Temple. I want to know why you turned to the dark side. Something had to push you and you can’t blame it on me, so what was it?”
The togruta had her theories about why he fell but she wanted to hear the truth from him. She knew she might not get it but she had to ask.
“It’s easy to feel hopeful on a beautiful day like today, but there will be dark days ahead of us too. There will be days where you feel all alone, and that’s when hope is needed most. No matter how buried it gets, or how lost you feel, you must promise me that you will hold on to hope. Keep it alive.”

Ahsoka and friends! ✨ Not based on any event in particular, just felt like painting a sunset scene. I drew this mostly over lunch breaks at work 😆 It was nice to mentally leave the office and visit Lothal for a few minutes every day!

She sighed quietly as she watched him walk away again. And the more he rubbed his head, the more concerned she became and feeling more sympathetic towards him than before. She couldn’t bare to watch him writhe in pain. She thought about giving in and leading him out, it was against her better judgment but neither of them could stay here much longer. It was only a matter of time before they had to get out one way or another.
Ahsoka was getting hungry herself, that she agreed with him on and was about to say so until she heard what he said next. “My friends didn’t leave me here. Ezra came back for me. He pulled me out, that’s what you saw!” she confessed angrily. “And now you know what really happened.”
She was thinking about what to do, trying to figure out whether to risk it or just keep going like they were. And to be honest, it was getting really exhausting. She wondered if maybe leaving would be the better choice. But soon she snapped out of her thoughts and heard voices. She was more confused now than anytime before.
“I think it’s trying to give you a choice but also test you. It also kind of sounded like it was trying to test us both.”
The togruta kept her focus on him and not the voices, watching as he walked down the passage. And right then she made her decision.
“Wait, don’t go that way. Come with me, I’ll show the way to the portal.”
—
“Oh sure. You think some odd stuff with the force was them coming back? There was no ship, Ahsoka.” Vader frowned, “They didn’t send a ship just…force stuff.” He mutters before shaking his head as he rubbed at his head again then turned back from the glowing runes and ominous voices, both is and otherwise and he walked back towards where Ahsoka had come in from now.
“You do realize that this portal you spoke of likely won’t be there anymore, right?” Vader asks as he seems to be calming down a little now that she’s actually working to get them out of there.
As they’re walking, he’d put his saber back on his belt and then proceeds to look the artifact over some more. It still seemed to be glowing brightly and he turned it over quietly
He took in a deep breath and he realized that…perhaps the sith and jedi voices were right. Perhaps the weird echo of his own voice was right. He was running away from his past. It’s why he had tried to kill Ahsoka. The past hurt too much and yet…perhaps he did need to confront it in a way that wasn’t violent?
“Why did you never contact me in the months before Order 66?” He asks, still staring into the artifact’s blue light, “Was I really that terrible of a person to be around you really didn’t want any contact with me? Just talking every once in a while would have been nice.” he says, not looking at Ahsoka, his gaze still on the artifact, “I know you tried speaking to me in the days before the order but there were months before then that there was no contact….not for lack of effort on my end. I tried to find a comm channel with your name but I never could find one for you.”
Ahsoka wasn’t surprised by his negative reaction to her explanation of what happened, why she vanished. "Ezra did what he had to do to save me just like I’m doing what I have to do to save Anakin . He didn’t give up on me like I didn’t give up on my brother. It might not have happened how you wanted it to but at least it happened.” she snapped.
