Those BTS photos of James in the priest robes really gave me some ideas
I am too afraid to post the moreā¦suggestive versionā¦but know it exists and fill in the blanks.
Small Fandom Summer 2026!
For the fourth year in a row now, it's time for Small Fandom Summer! Join me for Small Fandom Summer! It's real easy to play:
Make a fanwork for something that has fewer than 1000 English-language works on AO3
Post it to AO3
And then you've done it! You've made a thing and you've diversified the fandom ecosystem! You're basically a hero.
Q: The fandom I want to create for has more than 1000 English-language works on AO3, but the specific pairing I want to write for has fewer than that. Does that count? A: Yes! Q: What if it has more than 1000 English-language works on AO3, but, like, just barely? A: Okay! Q: What if it actually has a lot more than 1000 English-language works on AO3, but it still feels small? A: Sure! Q: What if I don't want to post it to AO3? What if I don't even have an AO3 account? Can I post it somewhere else? A: Wherever! Q: What if-- A: Just do a thing, friend. Make a thing. Share the thing. This is not meant to be restrictive; this is meant to be inspirational. Create the fanworks you want to see in the world. Make a stranger happy by appealing to their niche interests. Bring joy.
And if you want to give yourself some silly little Steam-like achievement badges to commemorate your accomplishments, well, you're in luck! I've made a bunch of them right here! You can grab the ones that apply to your work and paste them wherever you like and feel good about what you've done. Here's a few of my favorites:
So you see? This is meant to be silly and fun.
There's nowhere to sign up. There's nothing to commit to. There's zero pressure. You just do it if you do it, and don't if you don't. But if you do want to play (yay!), tag your stuff with #small fandom summer so we can all swoop in and appreciate everyone else's efforts.
Here's to creativity!
Dead Boy Detectives is a stunning series
obsessed with dungeon crawler carl lately, so enjoy these text posts 1/?
sorry to everyone Iām infecting with dungeon crawler carl. once you start to notice him around he doesnāt really leave <3
project hail mary is a touching and poignant film that leaves you asking questions about humanity like, "wow what if all mainstream media was genuinely good" and "what if book adaptions actually gave a shit about the book in question" and "what if studios hired actors that could actually act, and then let them get a lil wacky with it"

"What?" Charles teased as he leaned back in for a kiss. "You gonna sneak me out like a dirty secret?"
Immediately he could tell he'd said the wrong thing. Edwin's face fell as he leaned back, shaking his head. "Charles, of course not," he said, his voice soft with hurt. "I would neverā I reallyā"
Charles kissed him again, making sure to hold his chin this time so he couldn't back up. "I know, Eds," he said, barely biting back the love. "I was joking."
Edwin frowned, though he at least looked a bit more relaxed. "Oh," he said. "Well, it wasn't a very good one."
No kidding.

I somehow missed these???? But for waiting so long you get both!

Charles showed him a few other thingsā the games closet, their case file board, a shelf full of spells books he warned against reading, before standing in the middle of the room with his arms spread wide. "So, what do you think?"
Edwin trailed over the room. He could see where his and Charles's styles met on shelves, the collections and lives they had clearly intertwined together. The old, classic furniture, the detective novels on the shelvesā¦
Even without his memories, it felt more like home than anything else ever had before.
"Iā" He trailed off, looking around. He didn't want to mislead Charles. "I still do not remember any of it," he said, and winced as Charles's shoulders slumped just the tiniest bit, "But I love it. Itā it feels as though I should know it. Almost like a well-liked childhood acquaintance's home." X

"No fair!" one of the new, smaller Eridians said. They tossed two of their arms up, not in the happy, excited way he'd seen Rocky do countless times. No, instead it resembled something close to a developing tantrum.
"What's not fair?" Grace asked as he squatted down to their level.
"Savior Grace give ā©āŖā¬ a name!" they said. "āŖā©āŖā¬ā© want a name."
Grace blinked at the small, irrate form in front of him. "You⦠you want me to give you a name?" he asked.
"Yes, yes! Human name! Like Savior Rocky or Doc or McCoy orā"
He waved a hand in the air, trying to cut off the child's ramblings. If he didn't, he would likely be here all day. "Okay, yeah, no, I get you," he said. It was almost like a language class in school where everyone would pick a name from that language to go by.
Except this was for an alien child.
But alien children were still children, and kids loved nicknames.
