Auschwitz begins wherever someone looks at a slaughterhouse and thinks: they’re only animals.
Theodor Adorno, Jewish philosopher (via meatandmilk-is-murder)
I find it strange how so many seemingly intelligent people still fight for the archaic right to eat meat. How can you fight for equality when you are participating in the largest segregation and massacre in the history of the universe?

This is such an individualistic age where you look to society to try to figure out what you should be doing but you don’t know and you’re scared for the future because every question from an adult is about when you’re going to start driving, what college you want to go to, what your going to major in, and they’re asking you what you want to do for the rest of your miserable life at an age where you can’t even make a sure decision on whether or not you want to cut your hair. At this age everything is so fragile and you don’t know what’s expected of you because no one tells you what’s coming in the years ahead and no one’s going to and everything is so confusing because one second ago adults were telling you to live your life because you can and because you’re just a teenager and the next second they’re asking you what job field you want to go into and telling you that you should know the answers to all these questions and telling you about some kid they know that had built a fucking 3-D printer. You feel like you felt when you were 15 but you’re not and these random thoughts hit you like a tsunami hits the shores wiping out everything in its path, every thought is silenced, you can’t think and you’re screaming at yourself and telling yourself that you need to grow up but you can’t and you feel stuck.

Don’t let yourself be controlled by three things: people, money, or past experiences.

So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.

I don’t know if you’ve ever felt like that. That you wanted to sleep for a thousand years. Or just not exist. Or just not be aware that you do exist. Or something like that.

The important thing isn't what other people think you are; it's who you think you are.
