Introduction Post

Name: Aika

I'm an indie game Dev interested in making VNs; specifically, those with darker themes such as abuse, psychological horror, and obsessive love.

My current projects are:

Lola's Suicide Stream/LSS (In Development)

Sweet Nightmare/SN (Temporarily Abandoned)

Hiraeth (In Development)

I started my game-dev-journey as I've always had an overactive imagination, and felt that VNs were the best form of media I could use to express myself and my stories.

I hope to release LSS soon -- preferably by the end of next year. It's still in its early stages of development, but I trust that I won't procrastinate for ridiculously long lengths of time.. Like I did with SN. The memories are a bit embarrassing now, but, oh well. Life goes on.

I'll try updating my devlog every week. It'll be a bit of a slow start, but once I get the ball rolling, hopefully, I'll be making consistent progress with LSS.

Devlog 1 - Work Smarter, Not Harder?

Listen, if I'm going to spend hours slaving away at those ref sheets, I might as well cut some corners with them, yes? T_T

Across all Steam+promo material, her face is meant to be a bit obscured, but aside from that, criticism would be very much appreciated!

Devlog 0.2 - Banner Complete!

Phew, now I can actually start posting updates on LSS.. I've already mapped out all three routes, planned the events in the first loop, finalised my characters (designs + personalities), and planned out the entire UI and more.... So, this shouldn't take more than a year, *maybe* two at most, right?

Early access version on Steam would be a lot cheaper than the final product, and only feature the first loop (so, it can basically be treated as a prologue). That's a good way to raise money for your game, right?

Devlog 0.1 - PFP Complete!

Next step is the banner. Bloom + raw colours versions attached below. I also completed planning out all three routes for LSS, so all that's left is planning out the first loop's events so I can work out what all the choices for the three routes will be... And then, writing time! Fun!
