Recovery feels strange because for so long you got used to the loudness. The presence of the intense pain was almost something you could rely on to be there when everything else was so uncertain. The pain was in itself a coping mechanism. Do this so you don’t have to deal with that.

Everyone always says it gets better. But the truth is sometimes your situation doesn’t change, you do. And so when the pain begins to ease there’s a quiet that is so difficult to become accustomed to. And yet you know this is what you need, it is what you must try and fall in love with to replace your mind’s attraction to destruction. You must come round to the fact that life is at times mind numbingly boring, it is at times exhilarating and yet you must keep faith that one day life will be more appealing than illness.

You will know when a love is wrong, and not right. A fever in you, will not ignite. You may ignore it, for a while, For many reasons in-fact, because to accept that a love that you have grown comfortable with is not love, is to accept your own solitude. The deafening howls of your solitude.

But solitude is sickly sweet when held up in comparison to love that is Luke warm, and never, ever hot. Allow your love to be hot. Your heart deserves to thump outside of your chest every time that somebody mentions your love, every time that you frame an image of them within your mind, your eyes should flutter, almost stuttering with tears. When you leave to tell your peers of the lover that you own, you shouldn’t moan, you should glow.. Nearly lift off your tippy toes, and elevate off of the floor.. That is how you know.

Too many things look like love, and they are not love - and they might as well be poisons. Love should not cause you anxiety - anxiety is not the same as butterflies. Love should not cause you quiet, nor stale winters. Even in the winter, love will heat up the centre of your room, with, or without a fireplace. Love is not fear of voicing your truth, for fear that your love may leave you.. Love is born of expression, and freedom, and fire, and love, and light, and life..

There are many things that look like love, yet aren’t love? Shouldn’t you like to forsake them?
