Hi, my name is Ghassan, and I am writing from the heart about … Ghassan Darwish needs your support for Help Jana… a girl from Gaza trying to
Hi, my name is Ghassan, and I am writing from the heart about my dear friend Jana, a 17-year-old girl from Gaza who is living her final school year under conditions that could break anyone, yet she continues to persevere, try, and dream despite everything.
Jana once lived a normal life like any girl her age. She went to school, studied hard, and dreamed of making her parents proud when she finished her final high school year. But everything changed suddenly when the war began. Her life turned into constant fear, displacement, and survival.
Jana’s home was bombed and completely destroyed. She and her family fled with almost nothing except the clothes on their backs. Since that day, they have been living in a small tent that offers no protection from the cold nights, the blazing heat, or fear. Everything in her life became temporary, even hope.
Despite everything, Jana insisted on continuing her studies. But her school was destroyed too, so she began attending a simple educational center. Her biggest challenge now is that her family cannot afford the center’s fees. Her parents are overwhelmed with debt, and even basic needs have become difficult to secure in Gaza, let alone education.
During the months of war, Jana spent her days carrying water to the tent, helping her mother cook if food was available, and trying to help her family survive. Every night, she studied under a faint light inside a tent barely big enough for her family.
Amid all this, Jana carries another dream: the dream of survival. She wishes she could travel with her family to a safe place where she could live without bombings, without fear, without a tent. She sees many people leaving Gaza searching for safety. She watches the buses and families who find doors opening for them, but she remains unable to move, not knowing how to begin or how she could ever have the same chance. All she can do is watch in silence, hiding her pain, hoping that one day she can protect her family and live a safe, stable life.
Fear visits her every day: fear of losing her education, fear of wasting years of effort, fear of disappointing her parents who want her to continue her studies but can no longer support her because of their debts and the harsh reality around them. Jana always says: “If I could, I would do the impossible for my family… but I am trapped, surrounded, and all I can do is try to continue.
Jana urgently needs support. She needs help paying for her educational center, buying her books, and securing the basics that allow her to continue studying with dignity even inside a tent. She also needs hope… a step toward her bigger dream of safety and a real chance at life.
Your donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. It is not just money; it is a message that Jana is not alone. It is a hand reaching out to her in the middle of destruction. It is hope in a city that now feels like a prison. It is a step toward a future she deserves.
Help her continue. Help her succeed. Help her build a better future for herself and her family.
Jana deserves life. She deserves a chance. And she is waiting for your support to continue her journey.
