Most moments in the TYBW arc were meh for me. Either they ruined a character’s arc or another power-up that I couldn’t be bothered to remember. But my favorite moments from the entire arc during the final fight between Yhwach, Ichigo, Aizen (and Renji, I guess)

It really helped me to understand Aizen as a character in a clearer way.

This whole final sequence confirms to the readers that Aizen was never anti-Soul Society, he was anti-Gotei/Squad Zero/the Noble Houses. (Anti-Authority)

Character development may not be the word for it, but I respect the way he allowed himself to be harmed, to make way for Ichigo.

There was no chance he was going to die from getting an arm impaled through his chest but the old Aizen from Arrancar Arc never would’ve let his own blood be spilled if it was meant to benefit another person.

The TYBW anime has been iffy about staying true to the manga but I do hope they extend the clash with Yhwach and Aizen’s conversation with Ichigo. Their dynamic is by far one of the most interesting in the show.

I love this moment between these two. It kind of feels as though they made their peace. Taking down Aizen was more of a duty — Ichigo didn’t possess the same hatred for Aizen that he had for villains like Yhwach and Tsukishima.

Even here, neither are on guard. There’s no tension.

Just moments before, these two shared a moment of mutual faith and trust that the other would do their part in facing Yhwach.

They’re just two guys who were/are enemies of Soul Society putting their lives on the line to protect it.
