After having my son on formula, I missed the bonding time we have while breastfeeding. He was barely over a month old, I found bottle/formula feeding was inconvient for me, I kind of freak out about germs, since bottles & all parts had to be washed and sterilized before each use & oh how time consuming it was! Plus formula is on the pricey side when you purchasing it frequently. I hated hauling bottles, water & formula everywhere we went. I went to WIC & told them I wanted to start breastfeeding & needed help getting my milk supply up. So they gave me an electric pump & told me to pump for 30 minutes, every 2-3 hours. To me that was very demanding but I understand you have to be commited because it’s not very easy to start up again after you stopped lactating. You have to be willing to put in work but anyway washing parts was still in the way. I was afraid the longer I tried to relactate the more my son would forget how to latch on. So I just put off pumping for awhile, but when I gave birth my milk hadn’t come in right away, so the nurses gave me a LACTATION AID, it’s this cool little thing that holds some formula and it runs down this thin tube - which is tape right above your nipple so baby can eat thinking it’s your milk. I went back to the hospital & told them that I wanted him to practice latching on again plus be eating at the same time so I asked them for this Lactation Aid, they were all for breastfeeding and gave it to me. I started using it with my son again, little troubles at first until he learned that it’s where his food comes from. My milk started to come in! I love it, although there was minimal washing involved it was worth it! No more carrying around tons of stuff! Breast is best, good luck!
