Overseas Chinese Zhu Yi (Beverly Zhu) Returns to China to Compete, Chen Lu is Optimistic About Beijing Olympics

2018/2019 Chinese National Championships starts today in Harbin, one of the highlights is that the American Born Chinese skater , Zhu Yi will be competing for the first time domestically. Suffering from a right foot injury,  this was Zhu Yi’s first major competition of the season. Her short program result was rather satisfactory, head national team coach Chen Lu said that today, her condition was not at its best but her goal is the 2022 Winter Olympics. “Zhu Yi right now is only 16 years old, 3 years later she will be at a golden age for a ladies single skater. Our hopes for her are very high, she has many great qualities.”

“At the start of the competition we were very nervous. But as we heard the crowd cheering we were very happy and the hardship just melted away and I felt better,” said Ryom.

Kim said, “When we heard the crowd cheering we were very excited. We would like to send our thanks to the South Koreans and our fellow Koreans for cheering us on. We were happy to perform here. It was very good for us.”
