T.W.: death, blood, graphic depictions of violence, nonconsensual kissing, yandere character
Alyosha looks so freaking cool, and I really can't wait to have him as a character and play him X3
And I can't wait to see what people come up with X3
Originally, I intended to make it a Male Reader exclusively, but after re-reading it, I realized it could be read by anyone, since there were very few terms that gendered the reader. Hopefully, I've taken care of those few terms, but there might be some left. Don't hesitate to point them out!
Also, my knowledge of traditional Chinese clothing is abbhorent, so beware, and see you on the other side :3

Snezhnaya was a cold place, filled with cold people. That was your first thought when you arrived there as a child. You didn't understand the urge your parents had to change horizons so suddenly, especially when nothing reminded you of home. You couldn't look out your windows the beauty of lanterns or the flagrance of spices, only the unforgivable cold that froze tears, blood and hearts.
The longing to see your home was constant, uncomfortable, and whenever your parents tried to put you in the good "clothing" befitting of noble Snezhnayans, you could only look in nostalgia at the beautiful silk robes your grandma would send you every lantern rite. She hadn't understood why you'd leave, but she still gave you the robes when asked.
Still, you did as they asked, as the good child you were supposed to be. Quietly, you were drawing enough funds to get yourself out of their grasp and attempt the journey back. It didn't matter if you had to end back on the streets of Liyue, you were going back to your home one way or another. You would congratulate yourself over every single mora that escaped their notice and ended up in your pocket.
Although, as your parents intermingled more deeply with Snezhnayans, it seemed to become easier and easier. Whatever your parents were doing, it seemed that it brought so much money, that they didn't care about the little pennies you withdrew. You had no interest in finding out. People who delved too deeply in financial matters often ended up in front of the Northland Bank.
And the less you knew, the better.
They could play whatever game they wanted to play, so long it didn't have to implicate you at all. If they wished to become the most Snezhnayans to have ever walked this very earth, they could do so. You preferred your ancestral roots. However, it was currently a fool's dream to return to Liyue. Not when you were being dragged into whichever ball in existence for some inane reason.
Sticking out like a sore thumb, you'd decided on wearing the magnificent hanfu your grandmother had sent you, a beautiful ensemble that certainly made a few point their fingers straight at you. You barely gave them a second glance. Your ambition to leave the restricting world of your parents was your priority. Lifting a flute of fizzy drink, a shiver suddenly crawled down your spine.
Hand twitching, you cast a gaze around the ceiling. The feeling intensified, much as the urge to run did. You checked every nook and cranny, tried to find something in the shadows. Whatever that could prove that you hadn't imagined this for nothing. Just when you were almost certain to catch some movement, someone placed a hand on your shoulder. You flinched and turned to find your father's grave gaze:
"We told you already not to put such clothing in public."
A lecture was incoming, but at the same time, the intense feeling of being watched stopped. You weren't quite certain you were thankful, or even more terrified that it did before you could find the source of it.
"You mentioned once that one should put on their best clothing when going to events, didn't you?"
"If you do not integrate yourself to the culture, child, you will never be recognized by any of them," the man responded sternly. "And the first step is accepting that the clothing you bear is that of a nation we've left behind."
"That you left, father. And you already know my feelings regarding it."
A shiver ran down your spine, and despite the colors on your father's face, your face snapped back to the ceiling. What was up there? Not even your own father's anger ever made you feel so much... in danger.
"Listen to me when I speak-"
He forced you to look at him by twisting you by the shoulders, and whatever expression was on your face stopped him momentarily.
"Can I leave father?"
Was that your voice? How did it come so weak, when a moment prior, you were ready to scream at your father?
Almost trembling, you placed a hand on your elbow. Your heart was beating so fast, you wished for a desperate moment that it simply stopped. It hurt.
Your father stared at you, as though to discern lies from truth on your face. You didn't bother creating a façade. Whatever could help you get out of this place would be for the best.
In the end, the man sighed, before saying:
"There's still a few people I need to talk to. I'll make it quick, I promise you. Then, we'll leave and-"
"Father, please, you can't-"
"I'm already considering that it might be serious," the man interrupted. "But maybe you caught something on the way there. It's even more of a reason to wear weather appropriate clothing, child."
You didn't care what he was saying. You needed to leave as quickly as possible. Just as your father turned his back, the invisible gaze, because it could only be that, returned to you at full strength, enough that you grabbed at your father's back.
"Please, father, it's-"
"Go bother your mother, you're not a child any longer!"
A click.
Bam.
And red was all you saw.
One moment, your father was there, screaming at you to behave, the next, a nigh-headless body fell backward, coloring the floor and its clothing in deep crimson.
Someone screamed. It might have been you.
The other people in the assistance yelled, moving to the many corridors to try and exit the ballroom. Some were asking for the assistance of the Fatui, while your own blood was buzzing in your head, threatening to burst it in a thousand pieces like your own father's was. Someone pushed you and that was all the wake-up call to remind you not to stay there.
It might have been good to speak to your mother, looking back. This way, you might have seen her again. Still, you decided instead to run in one of the servants' exits.
You pushed against poor employees who were trying to understand what was going on, while you didn't give yourself even half a moment to catch up on your breath. The tight corridors meant little to you, and the brocade your grandmother had offered you was ample enough to provide the necessary movement in running. You'd never been so thankful for her.
You were not entirely sure how long it took you to end up in a random corridor, but the one thing it lacked was noise. You let out a painful breath, tears and vomit threatening to clog up your respiratory system. You clenched your knees, unable to fully forget the noise and the sight of a grown man's head blowing up in gory pieces.
As you let out another shaky breath, you took stocks of your surroundings. On your left, the moon shone brightly on a dimly lit corridor through large windows, whilst on your right, decorations and antiques worth more than whatever you wore currently were lined up on magnificent tables. You gave them no further attention as you concentrated in front of you.
The corridor extended in eery quiet. There were a few lights here and there, but something told you not to switch them on. Despite the logic and the fact that it could potentially draw servants to you that could guide you out, you didn't trust that it wouldn't also alert whichever was responsible of your father's...
You swallowed vomit before you could finish the thought.
You needed to move.
You took a step. Then another.
A whistle echoed against the walls, and a fear more profound than that of fire took ahold of you. Death was standing behind you. Death was approaching. And Death knew you were there.
You ran. It didn't matter that you stumbled, that you cried and smashed open doors on your way.
"___"
Was it your name Death whispered?
Before you could wonder, red figures of wolves appeared in front of you. You stopped momentarily, and sensed weights pounce on your back, you stumbled and fell, crying out in pain. You tried to move, but the wolves bit into the skin of your calf, digging almost straight to the bone.
"Ah!!"
You tried to kick out the beasts, but to no avail. The fear was liquid fire spilling inside your veins, and the knowledge that your hunter was approaching did nothing to help the situation. The bite intensified and not even the adrenaline bruning in your system kept it from electrifying every nerve in your body with pain.
Clack.
Clack.
Clack.
Death was there.
"Running in your condition was no good," you heard someone speak. "You excited them too much."
Shivers would surely drive your heart to an early death, seeing how they wracked your body currently. "Excited them too much?" What was it to this person, a game?
The wolves left your vision, even the one who had bitten your leg, which allowed you at the very least some liberty of movement. Standing in front of you was a hooded man, covered in furs colored white, dark blue and red. Green hair and eyes the color of gold shone underneath. His lips were stretched in a thin line, but something in his gaze burned.
"Although, I must admit, it was a tad too tempting."
What.
He knelt, taking your chin between two gloved fingers.
"You were too tempting."
And before you could process anything, he pressed his lips against yours. You pushed at his shoulders, screaming with all your might, but nothing would stop him. Biting did nothing but drive the passion further. Tears were spilling out, and your weak attempts at pushing him away only resulted with your hands being held above your head.
You could try and vomit, but the only thing that spilled out of your mouth were muffled screams of absolute terror. You begged, to any and all who could and would listen, to come save you. Archons, Shades, none were spared, you couldn't stop that monster.
"Now that the one that kept you from finding happiness is gone," he whispered in your ears, "let me fill that empty space with it."
"P-Please," you begged, trembling. "I-I don't know what you want, but please I-"
"You."
The man wasn't lying. Those burning golden eyes were not lying.
"I want you whole. I want your name, your soul, your body, your everything."
You couldn't move, not when you were being pinned like a butterfly for a display. You were rooted to this very moment, to this very instant in a long life.
This man is mad.
A gloved finger caressed your neck, dipping slightly in the inner robe of your hanfu. You shivered.
"You don't even know me," you tried weakly, as though that would dissuade him.
"I do, actually, " he responded easily, eyes turning back to you. "I followed you so intently, it was hard at times not to bridge the distance between us," he sighed, cupping your cheek.
Followed?
The truth felt like a stone being dropped straight to your stomach, acids rising back to the back of your throat and threatening to spill all over yourself once more.
"Is that why you killed my father?"
"He made you unhappy, therefore he needed to go."
"What about my mother?"
The lack of response was gutting. Tears streamed down your cheeks and the man kissed your cheeks.
"Don't you worry, now that they are gone, you will have plenty of time to forget them and replace their existence with something worthwhile. You deserve every bit of it, ___. I see you. I understand you better than you understand yourself."
Lies.
But in the hands of a man who killed your parents, what was there to do but to acquiesce until you could flee?
"And I know that you belong with me."
Your answer was filled with every bit of spite you could conjure without breaking from the inside.
"And who is "me"?"
Something in his gaze shifted. Something almost disgustingly, frighteningly fond.
"Alyosha, my sweet moon. Your one and only."
