WIP Wednesday!

I've been BUSY. 14,000 words in a week is phenomenal progress in writing. This got me through two whole chapters, and finished off the one I'd been stuck on for a while. I also did about 1,000 words of a handwritten smutty side-story for Knux/Rouge. They deserve to have some fun, after what I put them through in chapter 1.

Also, I'm adding a fun author's note to each chapter, from now on.

The plan is to keep uploading a new chapter each Friday, hopefully keeping ahead of the update schedule as I write. Once the whole fic is done, I'll ramp up the release schedule for a nice finish.

Anyways, off to bed for some reading time. This week's book is "Uprooted" by Naomi Novik, aka astolat, one of AO3's founders. My husband has read it twice in the last few weeks, and it's starting off interesting.

Learning to eschew unnecessary setup has been a big part of this fic. I don't need a long scene of Ruby crying over a lost pacifier and Rouge begging Shadow to go fetch it from Sonic's place. I can just have Shadow stomp up to Sonic's door, cursing like a sailor about fucking bats and fucking pacifiers and being a goddamn delivery boy.

And then Sonic breasts in boobily.

what I've learned from having other people edit my work is that I have a sick addiction to commas

there have been four editing passes on my spider sex book, and each time they take away so many commas. no fresh commas are being added, this is just a continued culling. if you see a comma in the final book please understand that it survived so much
