Thank you to @krabellen for directing me to this artist!
amir khusrow (1253–1325 CE)
This is back on my dash! And listen, I love to see Amir Khusrau getting appreciation, but this translation ignores a lot. The original rhymes! And scans! And does playful things with register! And conveys a tone of affectionate banter between the two speakers, not least because it has them both addressing each other as sakhi (translated above as “girl”) in the last two lines. I think taking some liberties with line order is worth it to preserve more of the rest—and I think there’s a better translation of sakhi. And so:
He only visits once a year, I splurge big on him when he’s here, His kisses make my tastebuds tango. Who, bitch, your man? Nah, bitch, a mango.

Peace cannot be achieved through war
In today's world, people are becoming selfish. The desire for power, luxury, and victory is taking over human minds. Leaders of countries, elected to care for their people and lead a better society, are willing to burn their nations in war for fame and power. But what is the reason behind these wars?
We all know we are children of the same God, so why this hatred? Why do we believe that war can bring solutions? Ultimately, nations are torn apart. What about those orphaned children? What about the suffering they endure throughout their lives? What about the displaced families? Is this the end of humanity? Is there no one who can see and understand the pain of those suffering?
It's as if humanity has left humans, and now all that matters is ego, pride, power, and money. Are we so naive as to believe that bombs and missiles can bring peace? Can't we look back to the past, where war has only brought destruction? Now is the time to choose the path of peace, love, and comfort.
A Saint, to whom many prophecies have pointed for centuries, is now among us. He is showing us the true path to spirituality, peace, and wisdom, from all the sacred scriptures of Hinduism, the Holy Bible, and the Holy Quran. He teaches the world that our race is our living being, humanity is our religion, and we are not different but children of the same God.
A new era of love and mutual support is unfolding. The growing number of devotees of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj shows that people are uniting under his leadership to build a peaceful and prosperous world. His teachings are bringing awakening.
Under the guidance of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj, a World Peace Conference is being held on May 1, 2, and 3, 2026, at all Satlok Ashrams.
We invite you and your family to this grand event of universal peace.
