Autumn’s shroud comforts the copse, and the burnt, spent fern bows to the drawing nights.
Forks of rain on the grey pardon the fallen palms of the trees, and gently pulse towards the heavy hum of the swelling stream.

I Am Thankful
Though the job I previously enjoyed has become tinged with un-fulfilment, and the little money I earn just about makes it. Even though the same crappy story is on repeat, the rent is late the tax is late but the electric and gas have somehow escaped unscathed.
I am thankful.
For at least I have a job, as dull as it may be, and at least I can buy the gluten-free food I may or may not need, and even when the gas is off, and the dressing gowns, the fleecy blankets, and the scratchy wool jumpers come piling on, I am still dry and (kind of) warm.
I am thankful.
To be witnessing this day, to have experienced the yesterdays, and to envision the unending possibilities of the tomorrows.
I try to be thankful, despite all the bleak days.

Post-us
The hopeful futures we fervently shared, and the lust-stained comfort we both grew, has abruptly collapsed, tossing us into a tense, scrupulous limbo. Maybe we were always rotten wood.

D
I am aware, every so often, that I am scarcely concrete. I watch myself slip into the process. My volatile sister, D, plants a seed of mist in my lungs, dominating me, manipulating my f l i m s y body into her own.
I fear I am nothing more than tracing paper, but I’ll just have to wait until I am strong enough to pencil the gaps in. a.m

The Evening Green Dot
They tossed and turned on a seabed of sarcasm, an internet connection apart. She disappeared into his updates and contemplated
tracing the moorland he had embedded and frozen in time. The moody black and whites in which she could uncover him. The tangled wires of expired maps that he longed to seek and delve.
The white bar flashed urgent blue, and she silently hoped to become more than an evening green dot, and for the extracts of him to become extracts of her, too.

Pre-tech Sentiment
Leaden drums of nurtured hooves plunge prickly pasture, Perturbed human bleating (momma, momma!) sweep the deep, rib-rattling hum of cattle.
The atmosphere is palpable.
Streaks of blue tits tease new-born bluebells, rattling a drunk fluffed bumblebee. Cymbalic raven squawks cradle lethal buzzard thrash, Warping an irksome Facebook messenger.
