Hi! I’m Forest. I’m a 23 year old guy doing seasonal work in southeastern Alaska. I’m starting this little side blog to share pictures of the beautiful views I’m finding along the way :)

Up and down the shore
This hike was rough but fun
Blues and Greens
Hazey gradients between real life
and the sea-foam green footprints of
water-logged reports for duty.
Stars fall over late nights,
green-tinged and hopeful,
met with curling smoke
and homesickness
3000ft above it all
Letting it all crash down
Ferns! I haven’t yet identified which specific plant this is, but I saw it while hiking and I thought that the bumps and ridges along the leaves were very cool. Running my fingers along the leaves felt almost like braille - very textured and raised
I finally saw the Aurora Borealis! I will say though, it was nearly imperceptible to the naked eye. Shows up pretty well in pictures though. It’s late in the season for the Aurora at this point, and I had almost lost hope that I would get to see it. Imagine my surprise when I saw it on a drunken night with friends!
Frozen lake I saw on a hike :)
Same spots, about a month apart. Fascinating to see how the snow melts and Spring takes hold.
Took a train ride today and saw some gorgeous sights!!
I can’t believe this place is real
Scavenger hunt! Hike! Bonfire! Another bonfire!
Took a short hike out to this cove. It was beautiful and windy and I couldn’t get enough of the salty air
goodbye $200 helloooo 3 groceries
Walking home from work at 9pm, the sky still a light blue
Frozen lake I saw on a hike :)
I found it fascinating how the water in the creek has dropped away from the ice
Taken during the ferry ride into town
