im a bins demon heres some tips and tricks for thrifting

bring a friend with an opposite style, different size, but still has swag. DONT EVER BRING SOMEONE WHO LIKES THE SAME CLOTHES AS YOU because itll feel more like a competition and a race to find the cuter things and youll end up regretting it, i recommend bringing your boyfriend or someone who knows you but wont take your finds! (heres me omw to the bins with my man)

look for the next bin being put out to get to it first, but what some do in the meantime is stand around waiting, in my case i find most brand name things in the newer bins but in the old bins i tend to find the hidden gems

BRING GLOVES AND A CHANGE OF CLOTHES the bins can be very gross and theres ussually nowhere to wash your hands after wards, i find bringing a change of clothes can be refreshing afterwards especially if your spending 1+ hour there

make a goal of things your looking for, you dont wanna whole bunch of random things. i try to take peeks of my Pinterest boards to remember the things i want

look inside the clothes sometimes theres clothes inside sweaters or blankets

make sure to get a cart, holding clothes restricts your movement and ability to grab clothes

keep an eye out for vintage tags for ur favorite brands like these

A couple of things I do when going thrifting at any bins/outlet store, to add to these tips:

1. Bring hand sanitizer to help with germs if you don't have gloves (they also should have some hand sanitizer near checkout)

2. Grab a bag as soon as possible, you might find a bunch of stuff in a bin that you wouldn't be able to hold right away (most of the time it's small things that would fall through the cart, like beads)

3. Check new bins first if there are any. Look quickly because good stuff goes fast, and older bins aren't as popular then, so the good stuff should still be there. (This depends on how often new bins are being put out)

4. Circle around the bins a few times. I have found things in bins that I had passed by multiple times that I love (I found the claw-clips on my page around the 3rd time of passing a bin and I finally checked out the entire thing :P )

5. Have fun with it! Trying to rush to find the good things makes it stressful, you won't always get everything you want from the bins. Slowing down also helps to find the good stuff.

Also, don't let others try to dig in front of you or try to push you out of the way! It's so common, and it works for those doing it. Especially if the person they're doing it to is shy, like me. Just look at them and tell them to give you some space👍 Or just push them back🤣 (Jk, it's not as effective as words😂)
