Maybe the real reason why the Crimson Dragon's bloodline dies young is because they're all inbred lmao
HGXYGFWEGU3ORHOHRIHWIRH
Just watched the new oddesey movie and it was good but I do fear it is now on my list of movies I can never watch again for the sake of my heart and sanity uhm
it was an amazing movie don't get me wrong, but there's something about watching real life people die and get slaughtered that genuinely messes with me... I know they're actors but it still hurts to watch? I spent half the movie with my eyes closed and my hands covering my ears, I fear I may be to soft for this stuff hefakhekf- I've read the oddesey and love greek mythology so I knew what to expect, but it was still very intense and yes I am literally crying as I type I will have nightmares for the next week I fear
I can tolerate animated stuff better (meaning I am maybe 40% less of a crybaby), I think in seeing something animated my brain is better at being able to lock in the fact that everything that's happening is fictional and not real.
Also the scene where oddyseus returns and his dog recognizes him and wags his tail even though he's frail and old I could tell that dog felt like a puppy again even if for just a few brief seconds, happy, fufilled now that he's finally seen his owner come home before DYING that genuinely broke me (I am actually sobbing typing this out omg someone help me)
I can't stop thinking about the dog and it's breaking me anyways
amazing movie, incredibly done, beautiful, immersive, great storytelling, cinematography and pretty decent accuracy, I'm just genuinely a wimp
Akayona is one of those things where I love it too much to even read fanfic of it or engage with the fandom (asides from looking at fanart). I've barely done it because I love it enough as it is? I don't mind seeing some analysis for it sometimes and I do occasionally post my own but generally I just don't want to engage with the fandom because fandoms can get overwhelming and fan content can distract me from canon and I just love akayona too much to get into it's fanon. I do have some issues with the writing but over all I just love canon too much to even read fix-it scenarios for the parts I've critiqued 😭 (though if there's a fic out there that changes nothing about the final arc with dragons except for giving Yoon more screentime I would read that). It's definitely one of my all time faves. Only my absolute favorite pieces of media get the "avoid fandom excluding fanart" treatment lol
THIS.
While I do quite enjoy reading (and writing) fic for akayona, i genuinely don't do it very often. And even then, the majority of the fan content I consume is mostly kaya centric lol.
Also VALID Yoon my sweet smart baby boy you deserved MOREEEE
The struggles of an immigrant child that immigrated young and doesn’t have many memories of their home country is that you’ll never truly feel like you belong to either country lol
this isn’t talked about enough.
I’m a little different because I was born in the US, but I am still the child of two immigrants. I love the country my family is from, but I can’t truly claim it as mine without feeling like a liar. I also, however, can’t deny it, it’s where my family is from, (the majority of them still there) and it’s the land where my ancestors culture and roots are from. Case in point, it’s kind of a painful halfway point. Too ecuadorian for the US, and too American for Ecuador. It’s the reason I had a hard time (and still kind of do) making other Hispanic friends when most of them were born in their country. By technicality I still count as a gringa, and I would often be called out on it.
I was born in the US, and don’t get me wrong, I do love and appreciate it (being born here is genuinely such a huge privilege), but my heart lies in Ecuador.
I would do anything for more interactions between these TWO THEY'RE SO CUTE!! Zeno loves that boy and I think Yoon sees Iksoo in Zeno and they love each other and it's so sweet
The biological youngest of the hhb and the percieved youngest but chronologically oldest of the dragons I could ramble ON about them omg
I think their relationship is so sweet, it's a lot to unpack, and there's definitely part of yoon that sees iksoo in zeno. I also think Zeno loves Yoon's curiosity, and is incredibly fond of the way he worries so much for the others, himself included. If you look through the manga, they do happen to be a recurring duo in a couple of panels. I think they both understand each other in being caretakers, and being percieved as guys who are physically weaker and need to be protected, but who won't stop short of pretty much anything to protect the others in their own way.
I also think Zeno sees himself in Yoon, when he was young and clueless and scrambling to keep up with Hiryuu and the og dragons 2,000 years ago. He'd definitely point out that Yoon is much smarter and has a lot more going for him than he did at his age, but while Yoon does absolutely fantastic, Zeno understands that the position isn't easy.
They both just want to look after each other and the rest of the group, and stop them from taking unnecessary risks. (which. is complicated because in Zeno's head, he is risk-free since he won't die, which means that in his head, he's allowed to get hurt, much to everyone else's dismay.)
Duality of man
Zeno and his duality ugh my heartttt
Enter Kija
Kija is great because he's a 20-year-old somewhat naive pretty boy rich kid who also acts like an auntie
Biblically accurate kija my LOVEEEE
Today's :0 Kija (and Yona)
oh how I love you Kusanagi and your ability to draw the stupidest expresssions ever to exist
I am a SUCKER for foster care/orphanage aus AND a fiend for a good zombie apocalypse au-- like YES give me the orphans and the drama and the trauma and the angst and let them be fighting for their lives and found family-ing through learning to survive and work together to not get infected/turned and also I forgot how much fun it is to write what you want to read so here we are
also my job is so chill I'm cranking out full pages and taking calls it's all very whimsy very wonderful
Everyone talks about Soo Won killing Yonas father, yeah yeah. Terrible everyone sucks and it’s all devastating for the kids I get it
But I can’t get over the fact that it’s hardly acknowledged that Hak is pretty much set up to be the fall guy. Through the story, people mention about how Hak killed the king/rumored Hak killed the kind etc. etc.
And I’m just… I can’t get over that.
Cause if Soo Won was entirely successful with the takeover, Yona and the king are dead… Hak would almost definitely be the fall guy. There’s no way they didn’t think he’d defend the king and the princess. There’s no way they didn’t think he’d fight the opposition.
And even tho Soo Won always suspected Hak would kill him or whatever, if Hak did kill him right away; then this whole thing would be for naught. The only thing that would change could be a power vacuum with no heir.
But no matter the outcome, Hak comes out in the view as the murderer. If the coup had entirely succeeded as planned, he probably would have been killed in defense of the Princess/King. Or if he has survived and taken captive, he probably would have been executed for “killing” the king/princess.
Even if he got away, he wouldn’t be able to go home or at least not stay. It would put his family and clan/tribe in danger. He’d be a wanted criminal (similarly to canon cause it’s often mentioned people think he killed the King).
People mention how much Soo Won affected Yonas life and stuff. And they talk about how Soo Won broke Hal’s trust but oh boy it’s so much more than that too.
Canon is probably the best case scenario for this. Any other way, Hak’s life would be ruined and any other way, he’d be dead or entirely alone.
I just have so many thoughts about this. And about him.
This fandom is CLINGING TO LIFE but we’re making a comeback!!! I LOVE THESE THOUGHTS TOO!! I loveeee Hak introspection and this is genuinely one of my fav “what ifs”, and the different sides of how soowons betrayal chipped at Hak’s character (rip his sanity)
tfw when your low-key fav fic that you've written actually starts getting some love 😭🥹
The non-verbal love prompt #4 (glass of water) with Zeno x Kaya, because I know it's your fave couple and I need something adorably heartbreaking 😘
I know this is a request from a while ago, but I hope that you still like this, despite how long it took me to get it written! :) https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14579306/1/A-Tough-Day-Spent-Together
AUGHHHHHHH
guys we are SO BACK.
Today's cute Kija

Hak's turn for near-death fun times in the new AU. The council (my little brother) has decided. Sorry guys I don't make the rules.
