When I saw this article from takepart  about Black &SexyTv I got really excited, because their show are the TRUTH! And I wish some of them would make it on tv. These show are everything B.E.T needs.
Black and Sexy TV was founded by four filmmakersâNuma Perrier, Dennis Dortch, Jeanine Daniels, and Brian Ali-Hardingâin 2011 and takes its name from Dortchâs 2008 feature, A Good Day to Be Black and Sexy, which showed at the Sundance Film Festival. Though the channel began with just one program, it has grown to include six: The Couple, Hello Cupid, That Guy, Roomieloverfriends, The Number, andYellow. The series are each distinct but are grounded by a through line of authentic black experience, especially regarding love and sex.
Hereâs a list of show from YouTube not all from Black&SexyTv you should check out when you got time.Â

While it may seem that occupying an empty, powerless wildlife refuge during the harsh Oregon winter would be an exercise in harmless stupidity, a fuller picture is emerging that reveals the Bundys and their fellow anti-government extremists are costing America hundreds of thousands of dollars a week in tax money. The occupation of the refuge is still centered around a single building, the amount of extremists with guns marching around and threatening to shoot cops has meant nearby buildings have also had to be evacuated. The employees have been placed on paid leave for their own safety. This means that while protesting the government, the militia has caused a costly shutdown of operations that actually wastes more money than it saves.

Then, on August 22, 1791, a great slave uprising plunged Haiti into civil war. Thousands of slaves rose up to fight for their liberty. Within ten days, slaves had taken control of the northern half of the island, leaving the whites controlling only a few isolated camps. Within two months, the rebelling slaves had killed 2,000 whites and burned or destroyed 280 sugar plantations. Within a year, all of Haiti was in revolutionary chaos. Legions of rebel slaves were led by a number of Black commanders, but the greatest was Toussaint LâOverture. #haiti #haitian #haitiansbelike #haitianrevolution #blackhistoryisworldhistory #blackhistory #melanin #africa #knowledgeofself #kos #hoodhealth #herbalist #rebellion #revolt #haitianindependenceday #independence
Rap Race and Revolution - Haiti had a large Maroon community, powerful enough to have led three major Haitian uprisings in 1679, 1691, and 1704. In 1758, the Maroons had a fearless leader named Macandal, a nativeborn African who declared that he was âthe Black Messiah sent to drive the whites from the island.â Macandal, a highly knowledgeable herbalist, hatched an ingenious plot to poison the whitesâ water supply and take over the island. Unfortunately, someone sold him out, leading to the Black Messiahâs prompt execution. At the time of his execution, Macandal bravely warned his enemies that the fight was not over, telling them and his fellow Maroons that one day he would return, âmore terrible than before.â #haiti #haitian #haitiansbelike #haitianrevolution #blackhistoryisworldhistory #blackhistory #melanin #africa #knowledgeofself #kos #hoodhealth #herbalist #rebellion #revolt #haitianindependenceday #independence

Last week my computer graphics professor (he is white) gave us an assignment. The project was to find an organization and make a poster for it. When I told him I my organization of choice was #blacklivesmatter he thought it was a great idea. Fast forward to today and now all of sudden it is a another story. Today he wanted to see what the class came up with so far. When it came time for him to view mine I could tell there were some issues. The awkward silence is what made me realize that my poster offended him. He told me that instead of using these I should make a new one, and that a lady with a blank face (no eyes/mouth) and afro with the words âblack lives matterâ would work better. He also told me how people (more specifically his parents) would be offended by this poster because of the American flag is on it, and that it could offend people who served this country like his dad. And then he told me that the bullseye looked like a target logo. So I kindly told him that those will be the two posters that I will be turning in and that I am not changing anything. When I told him that he basically said that if I donât change it he will give me a low grade on it. Let this be a reminder, I DO NOT CARE IF MY ARTWORK OFFENDS ANYONE. I will always stand for what I create 110% , especially when it comes to the truth about black people, MY PEOPLE
Spread this
Spread it like wild fire
Fuck your teacher.
Tell him his parents have no special claims on the American flag. Black people have fought in every war in US history from our war for independence from England in 1776 to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan today. And unless his family came over on the Mayflower, Black folks were here when his family got here, so we are more âAmericanâ than most. If he objects to your work it canât because of his parents and a fucking flag. Lying devil.
If you get a low grade on it, contest it. Bring it to your academic adviser and your dean / dean of students. Tell them the conversation he had, and then demand that they have a meeting with him over the grade.  Heâll have to justify why exactly he gave you a low grade, because âI donât like that you used an American flag in association with BLMâ is not a valid graphical critique. If he canât come up with an answer specifically related to your quality of work, demand a higher grade and file a complaint.
EBONY: Some Black people were also upset about how often and how publicly you used the word ânigger.â PRYOR: Thatâs over now, too. EBONY: Youâll never use the word again? Why?
PRYOR: Well, I took a trip to Africa â which, by the way, is where I plan to live some day. I went to Kenya, and while I was there something inside of me said, âLook around you, Richard.
What do you see? I saw people. African people. I saw people from other countries, too, and they were all kinds of colors, but I didnât see any âniggers.â I didnât see any there because There are no âniggersâ in Africa. Can you imagine going out into the bush and walking up to a Masai and saying, âHey nigger. Come here!?
â You couldnât do that because Masai are not âniggers.â There are no âniggersâ in Africa, and there are no âniggersâ here in America either.Â
We Black people are notâniggers,â and I will forever refuse to be one. Iâm free of that, itâs out of my head.
My mother is not a ânigger.â Is yours one? So if your mama ainât no ânigger,â how could you be one?
See, when I went to Africa, to my Motherland, I realized that terms like âniggerâ and the word âbitchâ that so many Black men call our women are tricks, like genocide on the brain.
EBONY: How do you respond to people who say that you used those words on stage and on your albums and got rich doing it, and now all of a suddenâŚ
PRYOR: Iâd say to the, âAllow me to grow.â Nobody can stay the same unless heâs Plastic Man. Just watch and see where my growth takes me. Maybe someday theyâll say, âLook at the mââfââ! He donât say al that sât he used to say, heâs still saying some funny sât.â Thatâll be my growth.

New Guinea In the 1970âs, Ben Tanggahma, foreign Minister of Papua New Guinea announced : âAfrica is our motherland. All of the black populations which settled in Asia over the hundreds of thousands of years, came undoubtedly from the African Continent. In fact the entire world was populationfrom Africa. Hence, we the blacks in Asia and the Pacific today descend from proto-african peopleâs. We were lined to Africa in the past. We are linked to Africa in the present. We will be linked to Africa in the future. â #black #books #native #indigenous #original #family #aboriginal #brown #blackandbrown #Guinea #newguinea #islands #Micronesia #Polynesia
Indigenous people of Fiji (Melanesia) Fijian people are the major indigenous people of the Fiji Islands, and live in an area informally called Melanesia. Indigenous Fijians are believed to have arrived in Fiji from western Melanesia approximately 3,500 years ago, though the exact origins of the Fijian people are unknown. Later they would move onward to other surrounding islands, including Rotuma, as well as blending with other (Polynesian) settlers on Tonga and Samoa. #africa #asia #islands #tonga #samoa #melanesia #indigenous #original #ooa #outofafrica
Coastal migration is a term sometimes used in modern anthropology and genetics for the concept that, from a single origin in Africa 100â200 thousand years before present, early human migrations first spread eastwards to areas outside Africa along routes that were predominantly located around coastlines.
The coastal route is primarily used to describe the initial peopling of the Arabian peninsula, India, Southeast Asia, New Guinea, Australia, coastal China and Japan, and is linked with the presence and dispersal of mtDNA haplogroup M and haplogroup N, as well as the specific distribution patterns of Y-DNA haplogroup C and haplogroup D, in these regions. The theory proposes that humans, likely similar to the Negritos or Proto-Australoids of modern times, arrived in the Arabian peninsula from Africa, then on the southern coastal regions of the Indian mainland, followed by spread to the Andaman Islands and modern-day Indonesia, and thence branching southwards to Australia and northwards towards Japan. Eventually making headway into the Americas.
