Eliza was walking down the corridor, using her umbrella to support herself. After seeing the corpse of Keiko, she was feeling somewhat queasy. Of course, in her days, she’d seen quite the amount of corpses, but never one killed so… cruelly.

As she continued, she saw a girl she didn’t recognize. In a friendly voice, she spoke. “If you’re going towards the body, be warned it’s quite gruesome. Not what one would consider a pleasant sight.”

"Oh!" Akari was a bit startled when the other girl spoke, but tilted his head with a pleasant smile on her face. "I can imagine, but I still need to investigate, right?" She then sighed, crossing her arms in front of herself and looking down, suddenly looking sad. "I'm disappointed. I didn't think this would happen." She was quite vague, but on her mind it was clear that she was talking about the universe.

"Oh, would you like to investigate with me? I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name!"

What...?

A body? This couldn't be true... Akari found it hard to believe someone had gone through with it, but again, it wasn't her place to question fate.

She had been on her dorm room when she heard the announcement. After witnessing the death of a girl by Monotus' hands (or wings), she decided it would be better to stay hidden for a while. She knew she couldn't escape her fate, but that didn't mean she couldn't be scared. In fact, she was terrified. No, she couldn't question fate, and for the first time in her life, that blind trust scared her.

Akari left the room, intending to help with the investigation. Becoming a detective... she didn't think she would be any good at it, but it wouldn't hurt trying, right? After all, her life depended on it... Even if it was her fate to die at the trial, there was no way she would know if she didn't try to survive.

Kouki turned red, a slight smile forming now. He grew more comfortable, a reflection as he assumed more a comfortable position with Akari. “Y…Yes… T…They have each other…” He then managed a full on smile without as much shakiness.

"A…Akari-chan… y…you are very… w-warm… It is… c-comforting… T…Thank you." He squeezed a tiny bit as she pinched his cheeks, and he let out a soft giggle.

"…It sounds very… Important." He pondered for a few moments, before replying again. "…That’s a nice… Gift. You might not… Be able to see… The sky… But… You can /see/ your mother’s feelings for you at least… R…Right…?" He advised her nervously, he didn’t know anything about family, but this was the general idea for himself.

Akari nodded. "Yes, they have each other, and you are not alone either." She said in a serious voice.

"Warm...?" She smiled, tightening her arms around him and laughing softly. "So are you, Kouki-chan!" She said, her smile widening as he giggled.

"It is important, it's my most treasured possession, but... as you said, what matters are the feelings she put on the gift..." Akari said, looking over at the display and sighing. "So yes, I can see her feelings." Turning back to Kouki, she smiled, hoping to make him less nervous.

Kouki faintly returned the smile, his teeth slightly chattering from nervousness. This was perhaps the first time in years he was without his two best friends? It was tough, but Akari was truly comforting. What a blessing.

"…Kuro a-and Shiro… A-Are… O…okay." He managed to blurt out in reply. His smile held steady but wavered, his eyes trembling on the verge of tears again. "…W…whatever… Y…you say… A…Akari-c-chan…". He firmly believed in the young lady, happy to find comfort in such chaos. Happily, he leaned into her embrace, wrapping his arms around her ever so awkwardly. To help keep the topic going, he brought up what she had lost.

"W…What… Did… Akari-chan… L…lose…?"

Akari pressed a quick kiss to Kouki's cheek, laughing softly. "I'm glad to hear they're okay...! At least they've got each other while they're stuck on that display... so please don't cry!" She said, gently pinching his cheeks.

She now had her two arms around him, and although she was still optimistic about the situation, she was happy to find some comfort on their embrace, and was even happier that she was able to comfort Kouki.

"What did I lose...?" Akari repeated, sighing. "A telescope... it's not as important as Kuro-chan and Shiro-chan, but it was a gift from my mom, you know..." A sad smiled graced her face as she thought about it. "Of course, it's not useful if I can't see the sky with it..."

Kouki stared at his display case, longing, a sadness in his eyes. He’d been standing and crying silently for a few hours now after the announcement, surprised to had see his puppets were ripped from his hands during his hands without him noticing. Without them, he was practically a piece of trash.

For a while now, he stood there longer, before finally noticing that Akari had been sitting down, looking at the others.

He considered for a moment, before at last sitting down next to her and giving off a weak smile and speaking, “…A…A-Akari-chan… is… o…okay?”. His voice came off a nervous, trembling mess as if this was his first time speaking, but he managed to convey it properly. He was genuinely curious, wondering for her wellness.

Akari smiled brightly when she noticed Kouki approaching, sliding to the side to give him space to sit next to her. She had noticed him crying before, but didn't want to intrude or bother him when he was feeling sad. So she was really happy when he decided to come to her instead.

"Hey, Kouki-chan..." She greeted, her smile never faltering. "I'm okay... I mean... I wish they didn't have to take our things away, but everything will work out in the end, right?" She said, wrapping an arm around him in a half hug. "I'm sorry they took Kuro-chan and Shiro-chan... But you'll get them back, okay? Don't worry." She smiled, squeezing him in an attempt to make him feel better.

She had been spending a lot of time on her room after the first announcement, scared that people might want to kill her, but after some thought she realized it wasn't a good idea to stay hidden. After all, if it was her fate to die, she would be murdered anyway. There was no escaping from fate.

When Monotus called, Akari forced herself to leave the room, but now she regretted it. Not that her telescope had much use when she was stuck inside a museum, but still... it had been a present from her mother, and she didn't want to lose it.

Despite everything, her optimistic side still thought things would work out in the end, so she sat down on the floor, watching as the others looked at their prized possessions with a sad smile on her face.

"Haha, dumb owl!" Krys said before realising it could still reappear, jumping behind Peter for safety. "There’s no way Krys would ever…" She felt at her holster, slowly searching for her mic. she screamed and gasped at the same time. "YOU STUPID WINGED-" She realised she had no idea what she was going to follow that up with. "W-well, just give Krys her microphone back."

She stumbled over to the case, to view her mic… “Krys wants her baby back, please…” she continued to sit and stare at the lost items, making sure nothing bad happened to her precious possession.

"Ah, excuse me, miss?" Akari asked as she approached the display on the lobby, curious to see what the weird owl had planned for them. "Is this the display with the prized possessions? I lost something and I was thinking..." She stopped mid-sentence as she saw her telescope on the display, crossing her arms and sighing. "When do you think we'll get them back?"

『Ew! Kouki ain’t kissing no girl! I mean, sure, Kuro and I kissed you but… We’re… Yeah.』(K-Kouki-san says he’s afraid of getting cooties…)

Kouki bit his lip, his nostrils flaring a tiny bit and hiding behind his puppets again.  Kuro turned around and to the gay astrology girl, (He says that if he licks you, he’s treating you like a popsicle, therefore, he’s not getting cooties!)

Kouki affirmed this with another nod, but he at last, had an epiphany. (KOUKI-SAN JUST REALIZED LICKING GIRLS IS AGAINST SOCIAL NORMS! He says he doesn’t want to be classified as those weirdos on the internets get arrested for several years never see the light of day and then die alone!) 

So, instead, Kouki took the option of kissing the gay astrologer. Goddammit. He opted for an unusual choice instead, kissing Kuro and then having Kuro kiss Akari. (Kiss delivered! Kouki-san says he doesn’t get cooties this way.)

She was about to reply to what he had said about treating her like a popsicle, but before she could do that, he realized licking people was against social norms. Incredible. 

Akari laughed, then smiled at them. "I'm sure you wouldn't want to get arrested or die alone just for licking someone." She said with a small giggle. "But, well... kissing is much better, you know."

Glad that he had chosen the kissing over the licking, she accepted the puppet's kiss with a smile, but her light blush was still there. "Kouki-chan, I'm sure you wouldn't get the... cooties?" She was confused by the word, but it wasn't hard to understand what it meant. "It's just a kiss on the cheek! You can think of it as... sealing our friendship! How does that sound?"

She smiled a bright more confidently now. This person was really nice. She liked really nice people. Please continue to be nice, thank you. “Mmhmm! T-thank you…” she mumbled softly. “Oh um…I forgot to ask but… What’s your Super High School Level?”

"Oh, right...!" Akari continued to smile, tilting her head slighty as she spoke. "I'm a Super High School Level Astrologist! Or Astrologer, whatever you want to call me!" She said. "What about you?"

Eveline did find Akari slightly forward which did scare her a little but for some reason she trusted her new roommate and hoped they would be very good friends.

"It is very nice to meet you Miss Akari. I do also hope we can be good friends and I will do everything I can not to bother you or be in your way." She hoped that this was the right way to greet this new person in a way that she would be liked and, hopefully, they will have a pleasant stay together.

"It's nice to meet you too!" Akari smiled. "Don't worry, I'm sure you won't bother me!" It was very hard to bother her, and this girl didn't look like she had it in her. Akari was very happy about that.

She kept smiling for a moment before suddenly gasping. "Oh my! I'm sorry, I didn't ask your name! Can you tell me?"

"Really? Huh I thought you astrologists would know something about that. Well then," Valu kept twirling her dumb hair. "Perhaps you can just figure out my SHSL later then. It’ll probably come up sometime soon." Valu prepared a load of excuses when she did get exposed. Like how she was forced to do it at a young age, or she had to do it for her family! Nah it was actually something else.

"No, not really... I could try to guess your star sign, but a SHSL talent is way harder, since there are many possibilities!" She explained with a smile on her face. "Then I'll wait for it! I'm really curious!" Akari said, giggling.  "You're pretty mysterious, aren't you?"

She watched to see if she would get angry, but let herself slowly relax when she didn’t. “…I like hearing my sister’s name,” she replied, with a soft voice. “I like my sister’s name…” She wrung her hands together and gave an apologetic smile.

"Oh, I see!" Akari smiled gently at the little girl. "Your sister has a pretty name, but your own name fits you better." She said, her smile never faltering. "She must be a wonderful sister, then!"
