Spoilers about GOS3 below
While the brain rotted fan fic lover in me is bereft at the lack of physical intimacy in GOS3, I am reminded of my AP history professor's reminder to look at the original documents.
Book! Omens was primarily written by Pratchett, not that other author. I think a computer style writing analysis even suggested around 70% or so? With that other author (mostly) out of the picture, we should expect to see the pendulum swing back from GOS2 more to the style of Terry Pratchett. And Terry Pratchett was very well known for 1) lack of physical/sexual intimacy in his writing, keeping it to allusions or off stage references, and 2) his profound humanism.
This is a very humanist ending. It is in keeping with the Book! Omens concepts that the only thing the angel and the demon loved more than each other was the world, Heaven & Hell behaving like two children's gangs running amok over Earth was actually not good for Earth or it's inhabitants, and free will, genuine free will, is a good thing.
We get books, and gardens, and the universe. And love. We get love.
Oh, look at the calendar: it’s May 4th. Time to celebrate the 1891 'Swiss Diving Championships!' I’ve got the tissues, you bring the existential dread!!! 🥲
Chicken Paprikash
Christopher Kimball's Milk Street on PBS Create channel tonight (28 April 2026) is making Chicken Paprikash, based on a 120 year old recipe from Gundel restaurant in Hungary. "This isn't a chicken dish with paprika and onion added. It is a paprika and onion dish with chicken added."
I guess someone at PBS in charge of programming also may subscribe to dracula daily.
My Good Omens 3 speculations based on Book! Omens re the third baby in the baby swap may come to naught based on what we have seen in the trailer.
Book spoilers below, some GOS3 spoilers/speculation too
If you may recall, the other baby (not Adam, not Warlock) was adopted out, and was known as "Greasy Johnson". He led the other gang the "Johnsonites" that occasionally clashed with the "Them", led by Adam Young. He used to pick on Pepper until she beat the snot out of him, and he raised tropical fish, was a bit clumsy until he and his family moved to America and he took up football .
The t.v. series left this part of the plot out, but the key reason Adam rejected heaven and hell's argument for Armageddon was his personal experience of his little gang war with the Johnsonites, and recognizing that Tadfield and it's inhabitants were not better off for it. I can remember if either the book or he who won't be named suggested it, but Greasy was proposed as the second coming of Jesus, and he would come from America.
Nothing in the trailer suggests Jesus is an American youth from America, formerly adopted in Tadfield. But who knows, maybe with the inclusion of Adam in the cast it could still happen

The NYT must be channeling our collective anticipation for our favorite time looping vampire hunting polycule. Five stars here, let me know how this particular recipe fares against some of the others we have shared here on this hellsite.

small thing I'd like to add here is that there is no bad fic as long as it's done with love <3
