#366 Baby - Clamperl are born with their shells intact. The protective structure - the larval shell - is brittle, and thickens up with successive layers over time to provide a strong, impenetrable fortress. The increased weight of the shell prevent Clamperl from drifting with the current, and they settle on the bottom of the ocean floor, where they live out their adult life until their fleshy body outgrows their shells, beginning their evolution.
Clamperl live within the security of their rock-hard shell, where they are protected from harm as they grow. As a result, Clamperl will stay within their shells until they outgrow them, often running back to the shell to hide during times of distress, curling up so that they fit inside. Sand from the ocean bottom frequently gets caught inside, and, over the course of their evolution, will be turned into a large and valuable pearl.
#366.51Â - Clamperl who are evolving into Huntail will begin to develop several features that help them lure unsuspecting prey, such as bioluminescent spots and a tail fin that looks like a small fish. Theyâre not the strongest swimmer, and rely mainly on deception and quick motions to grab their prey.
Named: Clamperl - Clamoray - Huntail
#366.52 -Â Clamperl who are evolving into Gorebyss begin to develop a long, streamlined body, giving them a more elegant and beautiful appearance than their counterpart. Behind this facade lies a merciless hunter, who drains their prey of body fluids. The more pink their scales, the more recently they feasted on blood.
Named: Clamperl - Clamaera - GorebyssÂ
These Pokemon require the crushing pressure of the deep ocean to evolve, and whether a wild Clamperl will evolve into a Huntail or Gorebyss, depends on the current population in their ecosystem and the Pokemon that theyâre exposed to. They are capable of evolving out of their environment if traded while holding a Deep Sea Tooth or Deep Sea Scale.
