King Malleus is always late to meetings. Nobody minds it because his time is precious and he's doing his best for the country-- as is evident from his long, long sigh of relief when he finally sits down.

They don't know that he just came back from cleaning up his baby dragon's stinky, fiery dump of shit off his bum that nobody else can do because the baby farts flames and almost killed a maid who just happened to pass by his line of fire. It was particularly difficult that morning because they had to feed the boy beans for nutrition. He has been firing off nasty flamethrowers ever since.

"Aren't we late already? You go first and I'll catch up after this." His dear wife, so concerned and constantly fixing his attire going askew every time he grappled with their unruly child, announced so bravely.

"And leave you with this... hazardous flatulence?"

"I'm his mom. Surely he won't hurt me?"

"He's attempted to kill me multiple times with his... reverse flames. We cannot risk it."

"Attempted to kill-- he's a baby. He doesn't know what he's doing."

"Exactly."

Thirty minutes later, with the baby finally settled and snoring in his bed, they arrive at the meeting; composed and regal, with only a hint of unruliness and a little shortness of breath.

The audience, faces stuffed with delicious cookies and tea and the latest novela on this brand new spanking "remote theater" that the king and his consort recently started serving to entertain them, gives them a knowing look.

They think the husband and wife were fooling around in that half hour they spent fabulously late.

Oh he wished. He wished.

"Now, let us run over the agenda. And do it quickly, for my time is precious and my patience is thin."

They have one hour at the maximum before their little prince wakes up again and starts terrorizing the place with his deadly farts.

God, they needed a vacation to actually fool around.

(Edit: Also both Peter and Ted have a thing for redheads, parallel each other with their deaths and successors, and were created by Dikto, like these two characters are variants of each other lol!)

(Edit 2: Because I keep thinking of more similarities: have somehow been both broke and ceos at one point, an uncle that changed the directory of their lives, and the death of someone they loved and respected directly pushing them into the hero world. I remember this podcast clip on tiktok, and they were saying they couldn’t think of who the dc equivalent of spiderman is, and they offered up green lantern, like bro😭)
