Yeeeah, I like to think so. This the kind of thing your family normally eats at birthdays? [and just going to take some of the sushi for now and take a bite, he’s never really been fussy but he does enjoy it anyway] I’m real glad we finally got to meet too, but I don’t think I’ve seen your face around for a while… you been hiding or just on a long mission or something?

Pretty normal [she's just gonna nod and smile here]. Been gone a spell. Mission stuff, but y'know I can't talk about that really. Wouldn't want t'bore ya.

He shakes his head once, turning on the water in the sink and lets his hand run under it, waiting for it to warm up which it does almost instantly. “I am more than fine, thank you. It was very good, I haven’t had anything but scraps in a while and real food is a gift.”

Smiling over his shoulder at her, he goes about cleaning the bowl, methodical and slow. “Well, I suppose if you can’t divulge details I will have to ask you about something else… Perhaps where you are from, before the Project I mean?”

Her lips quirk into an amused smile as she watches him clean the bowl.

"Honestly? Same place as m'name. Hawaii." She grins at him. "Cheesy I know. I like surfin' and the ocean. Spam. Pineapple. Hula. All o' that."

You know, I punched the boys when they came back today, I should punch you, too /She threatens but, well, doesn’t stop grinning or trying to punch, yet/

Never said you couldn't punch me, y'know. *laughs and squeezes the hug a bit more*

Alaska nods, slowly scraping his fork along the edges of the bowl, making sure to get every final grain of rice. “The ship was practically bursting with activity and now it’s settled. I like it like this; makes it easier to think.”

He slides out of his chair when he’s done, rolling his sleeves back, carefully adjusting the scarf at his neck. “Do missions tend to pile up like that? I thought it was a more individual set of missions that came and went depending on specialities?”

She's scooping up the last of her rice while he speaks and then at his questions she's quiet as she considers how best to respond.

"Well...they don't usually pile up like that, I'm sure. I guess I just got lucky. Or unlucky. Some of both."

She smiles wryly. "Can't give ya too much more detail than that, I'm afraid." She pauses and looks at his empty bowl. "Ya want some more? There's still some left."

The grin and the wink catch him off guard and his angled cheeks heat up at once as he looks away, clearing his throat. Everyone on this ship was much too friendly for him sometimes. “Well, I’m afraid I won’t be of much help, I can barely get my datapad to work but…”

He chances a glance back at her and gives a quick nod, settling his gaze on her right ear. “I’m… Settling in fine, I suppose. With shore leave going on right now the ship is rather quiet, but it means I can get my bearings. If… You don’t mind me asking, what kept you away from the ship?”

"Shore leave, huh.."

She taps her lower lip with her fork and then nods slowly. "I don't mind you askin'. Not sure how good an answer I can give ya though. Been....doin' mission work. Got a long streak of 'em and just....well I was busy."

His long fingers pick up a fork and he pokes the food experimentally, meeting her gaze. “Hawaii… Right, I can remember that easily enough.” And he starts to eat, taking a few bites before setting down his fork, a pleasant warmth settling around him.

"Now, I’ve only been here a few days but it seems like you… Know your way around, if I can be honest," he says, returning her smile with one that pulls at the edges of his mouth, "so either you’re an old agent or you’ve just got one hell of a way of settling in?"

She chuckles, settling down in the seat across from his, and eats a couple bites of the fried rice before winking at him.

"Yes and yes," she says amiably. "Been a while since I've been here, and I find it pretty easy to settle back in." She pauses and tilts her head. "...in the kitchen at least. Haven't back long enough t'figure out what all's changed yet."

She flashes him a grin, brows raising. "How 'bout you? Settlin' in all right?"

"Joran," he says, almost automatically at this point because he still isn’t used to Alaska and it’s much easier just to use his name. She doesn’t seem that offended by his presence so he stands up a little straighter, squaring his shoulders. "Agent Alaska, I arrived a few days ago. Still settling in."

He considers it for a moment and then nods. “If you’re willing to share I won’t say no to a homecooked meal. Though I can’t say I’ve had a lot of pineapple in my day, but I definitely recognise that spam.”

He slides into a seat, posture stiff as he sets his datapad down and really looks at the other agent. She’s small, but looks tough and he isn’t about to underestimate her, not right away at least. “What do you go by? Name-wise, I mean.”

"Joran. Nice t'meetcha."

He seems nice enough, and his politeness has her relaxing just a bit. "Spam's a staple in any kitchen, in my book. Uncle had some two-hundred plus recipes that used spam, and I've learned all of 'em."

She grins and scoops some in a bowl and places it in front of the guy, dipping her head in a nod. "I just go by Hawaii."
