full moon crazy | alaina & august
“Too much trouble?” Oh god, he felt a queasy sensation enter his stomach, and maybe it was the though of eating the rabbit raw later that evening, but there was just something not right about this whole process. Still, August kept driving, until they were finally out in the middle of nowhere. “I appreciate all of this Alaina. I don’t think I could have every done this alone.”
“The whole point is that we don’t have to do it alone,” Alaina huffed, reaching over to wrap an arm over his shoulder in an awkward half hug. “C’mon. It’s not long now,” she noted, glancing at the darkening horizon. Even without the sky, she could feel it in her bones, and boiling her blood. It was too much and not quite enough all at once, and Alaina was glad she was about to shift, because it sort of made her want to tear off her own skin. She breathed deeply, calming herself on the cool fresh evening air, a relief after living in New York. “You can feel it right?” She asked, eyes distinctly gold in the dying light.
